Description: The Silver Hind is a friendly Restaurant and Village Inn set in the centre of the New Forest Village of Sway. We welcome all the family including dogs and horses! Our Chefs are passionate about sourcing seasonal produce from the New Forest area including local fish, seafood and game. We are proud that everything is made by our Chefs including our complimentary bread which is freshly baked every day. We have daily specials and lunchtime light bites and our Sunday Lunch changes every week but always features locally sourced aged Sirloin of Beef and Rack of Pork with Crispy Crackling. We carry a range of real ales and have a carefully chosen wine list which is sensibly priced with a good selection of wines by the glass. We are open for Lunch and Dinner Monday to Saturday and Lunch on Sundays. Our bar is open every day from 11 am to 11 pm

Visited for sunday lunch, intended to have three course menu but only managed two courses as the portion sizes are huge, and we have big appetite's. Lovely pub, lovely atmopshere and seemed popular. Would recommend. Not cheap but definately not overprices. two courses for £16.95.

We saw this place was recommended on Trip Advisor and thought we'd try it out - and are extremely pleased that we did. The staff were friendly and the menu was great - traditional food but with a few twists to keep things interesting. The food was delicious when it arrived, we would recommend this to everyone. The bar area was also dog friendly and filled with locals which was great to see.

This gastro pub was a great find when we stayed in Sway.
We booked for the saturday night the atmospher was warm and welcoming and the trad beers were excellent ( 3 to choose from).
The food was local sourced and cooked to perfection.
A loverly end to a great day in the New Forest

Since opening I have visited many times both at lunchtime and evening. Food always good at reasonable prices. Well kept pint of Ringwood Best Bitter. On the one occasion when the beer was not on form the barrel was changed immediately and my beer replaced. A great asset to the village of Sway. Friendly staff, background music at an acceptable level. If I had to mark it down in any way it would be that it is a bit bright, and could use more subdued lighting. Visiting this pub is a must if in the area. You may have to park in the road as the car park is small. There is a decking area in the front for those sunny summer evenings.

My first review, even though I use Trip Advisor most months.....sorry, will try to do more!

It was my Fathers 80th Birthday and having looked around the area (Christchurch / New Milton / New Forest) we selected the Silver Hind as the venue for 14 people including 4 kids (8-15 yrs).

Booking was really simple, and a follow up call to ask for the Table to be decorated a little for the event, was all managed well.

Not knowing exactly where it was we arrived easily coming to a pretty building from the outside, which was right in the centre of the village. Inside it was as good, certainly not a normal Pub as it's a little contemporary but without losing the cozy feeling. My daughter loved the toilets!!

The Table and surrounding area was decorated with banners / balloons etc....all with 80 year logos...this was beyond my expectation.

Drinks and food orders were taken in a reasonable time frame, it was busy and we had 14 people some of who were not too decisive. (Jane!)
The Menu had a wide range of meals from Wild Boar burger & Fish Pie to Pheasant / Venison Haggis

Again, the food arrived in a reasonably timely manner as we had 14 people. I understand that everything is cooked fresh to order and is probably why service was spread out a little.

Personally I didn't mind as the taste and temperature of food was spot on. I've been to places where food is delivered immediately, all at the same time, but only because it's been re-heated or kept under a heat lamp for 40 minutes.

All in all we spent a really good 3 hours there, helped by the attentive service from the staff and can honestly say "we will be back"!
