Never staying here again. You have the staff going through you personal items and in your tents looking for items that are prohibited while your gone. Destruction of personal proprety and Park staff saying it was brocken when they got there. Horrible experience getting treated to get kicked out for breaking a minor rules it Being leaving clean dishes in a sealed container out in the open.

We have been camping for one night in this campsite in mid July 2018. Fees for fire wood is already included. The place is quiet for sleeping. But the shower water was cold around 10 pm. Lots of mosquito so spray more once getting there.

Very nice campground, but trains come by fairly closely and cause a lot of noise. It was enough to wake us up during the night. The best part of the campground is that it's about halfway between Banff and Lake Louise and it is also the start of the Johnston Canyon trail...one of the most popular ones in Banff.

We enjoyed our stay at Johnston Canyon Campground. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Lots of free firewood and quiet neighbors. There are trains that pass very close by, however, I enjoy the sound of trains so it wasn’t bothersome to me. Clean facilities, too. Highly recommend for your stay in the Banff area!

Take it from two people who have been camping and backpacking, in the U.S. and Canada, for the past 40 years - Johnston Canyon is the most perfect campground ever. We stayed 6 nights total (3 different campsites over late July early August. Campsites are roomy and kept in excellent shape. Campground is very well organized. All facilities are easily accessible, well maintained, and clean. Parks Canada staff are friendly, helpful, diligent, and made sure that all campers behaved themselves. Really appreciated having Johnston Canyon Trail access just across the road. This campground is also a good base camp for hiking the many other trails in the area. A thoroughly enjoyable camping experience. We give this one an A+.
