The hike takes approximately two hours, zig zagging under the gondola up the mountain. No special equipment required, but decent footwear and protection from the elements is recommended as it is pretty exposed at the top.
Top tip: you can take the gondola down for free!
The gondola station at the top has a cafe and toilets. It also has a walkway to Sanson Peak (a further 15 minute walk), where you can see a mock up of the old Cosmic Ray Station.
