“worth the drive”
Reviewed September 26, 2013

Stunning views, what should be a 3 to 4 hour drive from Jasper to Banff took us 6 hours. We stopped off at so many view points taking in beautiful breathtaking mountains and water falls. Do not miss the Atthabasca Falls, not the largest you may see but the most dramatic I believe. The glacier was very commercialised but still enjoyed our walk to it. The highways were quiet and easy to drive .

“Fantastic scenic drive”
Reviewed September 26, 2013

We travelled by car down the Icelands Parkway from Jasper down to Emerald Lake, stopping en route at the many beautiful glacial lakes and waterfalls. Although the weather was not ideal, the scenery was fantastic and I look forward to taking this route again.

“Once in A Lifetime Experience”
Reviewed September 24, 2013

Having hired a car in Jasper, we drove from Jasper to Banff down this route. We did not start on Route !, as we had been tipped off locally that it is much better to start by going on the old road - Highway 1A and as a result we saw more wildlife and sights than we would otherwise have done, it is to be recommended.
Once back on the Route 1 (Icefields Parkway) the views were stunning with all the advertised sights just breathtaking. The Rocky Mountains and the Glaciers were outstanding and it seems that you are so close to them.
Visit Lake Louise if you must as the Hotel is a disgrace to a wonderful natural attraction but do not miss Bow Lake, Maligne Lake and particularly Emerald Lake.

“Just stunning”
Reviewed September 23, 2013

Our recent trip to the Canadian Rockies/Vancouver saw us driving from Banff to Jasper.. This must be one of the best drives in the world, with the beautiful Lake Louise, Bow Lake, and the Atthabasca glacier clearly the highlights but at every twist and turn the views are quite spectacular. To cap it all in mid-September the road was virtually deserted and petrol was at no more than two thirds of UK prices! We completed that part of our trip comfortably in a day, even after nearly three hours at Lake Louise. A tip - set off early to get the best of the views and fewer fellow tourists. Enjoy.

“nice scenic drive”
Reviewed September 22, 2013

a nice scenic drive if you're travelling from/to jasper/banff. lots of rivers and falls. you can pull over on the side of the road and play on the shallow streams, and pick some wild berries. please obey the speed limit, there are lots of wildlife crossing the road.
