In a quiet village location, in walking distance to a great country pub and a short drive to local amenities. The accommodation was welcoming, clean, and included thoughtful details & accessories. The hosts were very helpful and friendly but not intrusive. A great place to use as a base to explore the island.
This was our first visit to the Isle of Wight and on looking for accommodation we found the Nook, it was just what we were looking for and on arrival we were not disappointed.
The booking and correspondence prior to our arrival ran like clockwork and direction given to us by the owner, Lisa, were very accurate that we found the property with no problems at all.
We arrived slightly earlier than the 3pm stated but were greeted by Lisa who said this was not a problem. She was polite and courteous and took us to the property showing us how everything worked (log burner, shower etc) and said if there were any problems during our stay to let her know (there wasnt).
The property itself was spotlessly clean and spacious for what we needed in both the living area but also bathroom, shower and bed area. The bed was king size and extremely comfortable. Lisa had left some provisions (bread, butter, milk, various boxes of cereal) and the property is equipped with plenty of cups, glasses, cooking utensils etc and has a microwave, toaster, single oven and single hot plate (although we ate out every day). There is a good size tv with freeview so you get plenty of channels and there are two electric radiators and a log burner so coldness is never a problem. We stayed here for 4 nights and this property went a long way to making our trip as enjoyable as it was.
We would not hesitate to stay here again when we next visit the IOW and will tell our friends as well if any of them are planning a visit. This is first class accommodation in a quiet location but close enough for everything that you need with a first class host. The Nook is a little gem and we are glad we chose to stay there.
Fabulous private cabin with everything you would ever need and more.breakfast provided just had to make yourself. LOG burner brilliant and so easy to do. BED comfy. Just our style. Parking easy and right next to Red Squirrel bike trail, flat easy ride around the island.
We stayed here for three nights, it was LOVELY in every way ! Lisa and her husband and honey the dog were perfect hosts and nothing was too much trouble, the lovely little touches were so thoughtful, milk, eggs and butter in the fridge, a loaf of bread, & tea and coffee, perfect !
Our dogs Tallulah and dolly loved it here, so cosy and a great garden, all safe and enclosed, it was also so peaceful, a great relaxing break for us all.
Newchurch is a fantastic location for exploring the island, ten mins away from sandown and a little further from Ryde, Godshill Bembridge Cowes and Shanklin. The pub in the village, the Pointer inn has the BEST food, but book before you come ! Very dog friendly and good ales ( according to my hubby ) most places on the island are dog friendly and people are so welcoming and kind.
My best friend now lives here so we will definitely be back ! Thank you for a lovely stay !!

The nook was spotlessly clean and we couldn't fault our hosts. Lisa was in regular contact before our stay answering my questions and met us on arrival. The secure bike storage and welcome food package was an added bonus. I would echo their food recommendations, we became locals at the Pointers (5 minute walk) and had fantastic breakfasts at the Garlic Farm Shop. The Red Squirrel cycle/walk trail was literally on our doorstep and is a beautiful day out to explore the countryside. I'm sure we'll back as we want to use the fire to create a cosy winters evening. We made the most of the nook's secluded outdoor space and even had a garden picnic one evening in the sun. Thankyou so much!
Absolutely perfect stay
