We've visited for a single night at the end of Oct 2015.
We got a broad room, recently restored, finely and simply decorated and furnished, plenty of room for a child if we had. The building is majestic, in the middle of the small village of LU Monferrato, on top of a hill.
We had dinner at the restaurant which is part of the Palazzo Paleologi Resort: excellent Italian-regional cousine (we visited in Ocrober, we got mashroom, pumpkin seasonal ingredients, and were offered truffle). The dinner was pleasant, in an elegant dining room, very good and quick service.
The staff proved kind and professional. Particularly we interacted with Marco, the manager, who was extremely kind and loyal in helping solve a trouble with our booking (I had booked for the wrong date).
The only glitch was that the wireless at some point cheased working, allegedly for a service interruptuon of the network provider.
We look forward to going back again.

Stayed here for one night with my wife in February. Place was fully booked but we managed to get the smallest room available. Even that was sizable and comfortable enough for us. Excellent dinner at the resort restaurant. Certainly want to come back.

High on a hill town in Monferatte, we stayed two nights in the Palazzo Paleologi, We had come to see my husbands cousins in Cucarro and it was close to where his family lives. We enjoyed the town of Lu and our stay here. Although the hosts do not speak English, they were friendly and welcoming. The rooms were clean and comfortable. This was an old monastery and had interesting architecture. It was unfortunate that we did not get to try the restaurant as we heard it was very good. But they were off site at a festival. The breakfasts were good, and we enjoyed our time here. Very Peaceful. Nice walks around the area. We were here on a Monday and Tuesday so a lot of the restaurants in the area were closed.

We stayed here for almost a week with a large group. The service was fantastic, the rooms were nicely done and well equipped. The entire place has been renovated very nicely since it was once a run down and damaged old monastery. The food at the restaurant was delicious as well.
