When we first arrived at the pub there was only one person behind the bar and we had to wait over 10 minutes before we had to ask to be seated at the table we had booked. The restaurant was empty even though we had booked. What really disappointed us was the fact that although the restaurant was empty we were placed on a table for 2 next to a party on a table for 8 who were loud with their conversation which you would expect given the size of the group. We believe we should have been seated elsewhere in our opinion.
We both ordered a burger and a side order of onion rings. We have to say that these were probably the worst burgers we have ever had. They were served on a hard style french stick which made the burger impossible to eat. The palma ham on the burger was extremely salty and the burger was under cooked. The onion rings were homemade and looked good when they came out but that was it. A thin slice of onion in a huge batter with no taste and very greasy. We then had the sticky toffee pudding and Bakewell tart which were ok.
There was a lovely open fire which was the best feature of the pub but overall the food is very poor for the price you pay as the menu is expensive for the quality of the food.
