“A lovely little hideaway!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 29, 2009

We stayed here during the late Bank holiday weekend and it was a perfect little getaway for the Peak Distrcit. Hidden away in a quiet country road, overlooking a deer park, Nesfield Cottage is the ideal location for some peace and quiet, The room was immaculate and super clean (it was my first time in a B&B and I am a hygiene freak, so I was very impressed!)

I will definitely be going back and highly recommend this to anyone who wants to be in easy access of the Peaks AND secluded enough to enjoy the tranquility of the countryside.

It's a B & B. So....
The bedroom - is spotlessly clean. It's tastefully decorated and furnished, spacious, airy and bright. The surrounding countryside and birdlife is stunning. And peaceful. No traffic noise, or any other noise except birdsong in the morning.
The breakfast - is world-class. You will not, repeat not, be disappointed. If they did an evening meal, it would probably be.... no , stop it... don't torment yourself!
Location.... handy for Chesterfield, Sheffield, Peak District, that sort of area.
Extras..... well, there's the friendly and chatty, but not obsequious welcome. Jane and Tom are nice people. And then there's the value. No hidden extras, no fine print. Excellent value, you'll settle the bill with a warm glow. Jane and Tom, you deserve to succeed.

From the moment we arrived in Barlow, Tom & Jane really looked after us and were very polite and friendly. Our first impression of this luxury B&B was that it was exactly that, luxurious! With a large guest driveway, uber large bedroom and modern bathroom, on arrival everything was perfect.
It's fairly close to both Dronfield and Chesterfield and also very much in the country. We were informed by the owners, of a lovely country pub and had a scrummy dinner there on the first night - trying the ginger pudding at The Old Pump is a must!
The breakfast was in perfect proportion and we sent back empty plates every time. There was plenty of help and guidance available on what to do and how to get there from the owners, which we fully appreciated.
The stay was relaxing and we didn't really want to leave after spending time in such a fabulous bedroom.
We would go back there again in the future and highly recommend this B&B, which allows easy access to all of the attractions in the Peak District.
