Lovely bed and breakfast accommodation. House is a beautiful old cottage. Very reasonable price - convenient, friendly and clean. Good quality full english breakfast plus fruit and cereal. Couldn't understand why we were the only ones there.

When we arrived at Lee House b&b we welcomed by Josie, she was lovely. She showed us to our room which was ensuite, kettle with tea and coffee making facilities and a plasma tv.The house itself was beautiful the rooms were furnished with lovely period furniture and the whole place was very homely.
Josie was lovely she put the heating on so we could dry our clothes as we got soaked walking, nothing was too much hassle for her.
The breakfast room was just lovely as well, presentation was fab. The breakfast itself was delicious with many options toast, jams, fruit, full cooked english, juices etc.

You could only pay cash which we didnt realise but went to the corner shop and got cash back which wasnt a problem.

Stayed here as a result of some last minute googling for a B&B in the peak district. Lee House Farm looks good in the photos, but the experience was disappointing.

The most important things in a B&B are the bed, and the breakfast.

The bed: somewhere between a single and double, and made of sponge, me and my girlfriend just sank into the middle, and spent the night bumping into each other! - is it too much to expect a queen bed these days?

The breakfast: would not serve later than 8.30am on Saturday, and at a push offered to serve at 9am on Sunday. Can you imagine, you've just driven 4 hours to the peak district, and you need to get up at 8am on Saturday morning?!!

And to top it all off, it cost 60GBP per night, and the owner only accepted cash. Who carries around 120GBP? She suggested driving 7 miles and back to the ATM in the next village (Leek) - in the end we called my bank on speakerphone, and made a transfer to her account - bonkers!

Finally, and frustratingly, she had a wireless internet network, but no idea how to provide it to her guests, so we couldn't use it.

The old-ish lady owner was friendly and admitted that running the B&B was not her focus, more of a sideline (hence not taking cards), and it showed - just not up to scratch for a guesthouse in 2009.

The location is good for getting the South Peak District (Dovedale etc.), but I'm sure you can find much better places to stay.
