We stayed here four nights. linda and Cyril the owners are lovley. We were in the hive room overlooking the bay. Everything about this b and b is pristine and very confortable and quiet.
Breakfast is very good and is served in the room which is a nice touch. It is very central to the dorset coast and has an ample car park at the rear of the property. Also it has good free wi fi, all tea and coffee facilties in the room with milk etc in the fridge. We will be back for sure.

Room Tip: Ask for one overlooking the sea

I stayed in the Fossil apartment last week for our honeymoon. When we arrived there was a bottle of champagne and some banners/balloons that Linda and Cyril(the owners) had put up for us. The apartment was well equipped and everywhere was clean and tidy....There was even a dishwasher! There is a lovely sea view from the lounge area and the bedroom, and a small conservatory where you can enjoy breakfast overlooking the garden and the chickens!

I would definitely recommend this place to people staying in Dorset, great location and friendly hosts.

This place really suited us.
I loved the fact that the breakfast was in the room, looking out at the sea from your own juliett balcony.
Room, shower, service, local area all really very good.
We only stayed the one night due to our late booking and it being the only night free! but well worth it and would consider going back for a longer stay.
Went to the village at the second pub for food, (can not recall name) it had great fish dishes, food very good, but went at a busy time so service a bit slow and got seated in one of the over spill dining rooms which lacted any decor and atmosphere.
My only comment would be that we could of done with another round of toast with our breakfast to sample all the jams etc which are in your own fridge. This is a small thing in what is a first class bb/lodge on the beach.

We had 4 nights here in the Hardy Studio which was very comfortable, well-equipped and had a lovely view.. The room is as it looks on the Internet. It was a great size for 2 people. The kitchen was well set up and there are 2 double doors which open up to showcase the sea view. The free Internet was a bit unreliable but that probably has more to do with the location than any fault of the property. It was well situated for exploring the area and we could even walk to the Hive Beach Cafe. There was free entertainment in the yard from the dogs, chooks and tortoise. Lynda and Cyril seem keen to keep making improvements (the new honesty bar and a guest laundry to come soon.)

We were treated with a warm welcome when we arrived. This stay was to celebrate a special anniversary and we were not disappointed. We stayed in the Cogden room looking out over the sea. The room was luxurious with tea, coffee and breakfast items. We ordered our breakfast the night before from a wide range of lovely choices. We loved the honesty box for beer and wine and the prices were so reasonable. We accessed the beach by foot from the lodge and as the Hive Beach Cafe was still open for dinner, we could walk down and have our supper of locally caught fish and local foods. The food was reasonably priced and to a very high quality with. View long out to sea.

Two of us and our dog stayed in the Fossil Apt for a week! Lovely accomodation, everything you need for a self catering break! The dishwasher was a plus! Very short walk to Beech cafe where we had fresh fish for dinner and a fab breakfast, dogs welcome too! Overall a lovely holiday, especially with the dog! Would return in a hurry!

This is one the best B&Bs we've ever stayed in. Stayed in the Cogden room, which was more like a small apartment than a bedroom. As well as a fridge, it had a dining table by the window overlooking the beach and the SW Coast Path (50m below). Why a dining table? Well after you place your order the night before from the (varied and extensive) breakfast menu, Cyril appears with the breakfast on a tray at your designated time. It's touches like this that make the experience special.
