“Cosy, relaxing and very well appointed.”
Reviewed September 9, 2013

We spent four nights at The Stables and could have stayed longer quite easily. The self contained accommodation was perfect for us, roomy, clean, well appointed and with a very comfortable and massive bed. (Just read the other reviews and 'The Stables at Owlet Hall' website to see what to expect, and what is provided).
The owners Addy and Angus were great, at hand in Owlet Hall over he yard but not obtrusive at all. The Stables are in a quiet location off the main road, although the 'Lock, Stock and Barrel' pub is next door you wouldn't know (I don't think it is a well used watering hole).

Out of the three pubs in the small town of Crowle only the Red Lion, conveniently situated a few yards down North Street opposite The Stables, sold real ale (with the Black Sheep being particularly palatable!). I would suggest that this is the pub to visit during your stay, it is clean, welcoming with friendly staff. Both the other pubs only sold John Smiths smooth along with the lagers. We had just one drink at the Lock, stock, etc. although we did eat at the White Hart a couple of times, on Thursday, which was Steak night (no other menu available) and Friday, Fish and Chip night, again that all there was, but with lovely chunky fish and crisp batter.

We wouldn't hesitate booking The Stables again, and cannot recommend the accommodation highly enough. It has all that you need for a most enjoyable stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Stables. Although a converted barn, It gives the impression of a vine coverd cottage. The wisteria, which was in bloom during our stay, overhung the doorway and welcomed us each time we entered. The apartment was well equipped, comfortable and attractive We especially loved the loft bedroom with it's comfortable king size bed. Short of a microwave, nothing was lacking. My guess is that the next time we visit, and we will, one will be there. Angus and Addie are a lovely and accommodating couple who are committed to offering their guests every amenity.

We stayed at The Stables for 1 night whilst visiting friends who didn't have enough room to accommodate us.

Very pleasant converted stable / barn with small kitchen, wetroom, sitting room and lovely bedroom up on the mezzanine. Centrally located in Crowle. Were left a loaf of bread, some rolls, some croissants, some cereal, jam and honey and tea and coffee for breakfast. Nice touch but we complimented it with some bacon and eggs! Would definately stay again and would recommend.

Very clean and tidy apartment consisting of a small living area with TV, 2 seater sofa and armchair. Small well equipped kitchen lacking only a microwave. Shower/wet room off kitchen.
Large comfortable double bed on mezzanine level. Overall a very comfortable apartment.

Breakfast food provided includes cereal, yoghurt, bread croissants and marmalade, orange juice, tea and cafetiere coffee. Having your own facilities means that you can please yourself about breakfast and can slob out in your PJs whilst watching breakfast telly!

Owners are charming and very helpful.

A very pleasant stay - recommended

We stayed here because it was close to family who could not accommodate us at their home. It was perfect, with modern small kitchen which was spotless, lounge area and a spacious comfortable king bed in the loft space. Owners were very accommodating to our request for organic breakfast foods. Would highly recommend.

Very comfortable, well-equipped and stylish stable conversion in Crowle. We had The Stables as a B&B, but also available for self-catering.

The location is great for birdwatching- only 20 minutes from Blacktoft Sands and 10 minutes from the Humberhead Peatlands.

Also, just over a mile from one of the best restaurants in Lincolnshire/South Humberside - the Ealand Gate Restaurant.
