Had a really good breakfast here last Sunday (December 16th) It only cost £3.99 each for a large plate of bacon, sausage, tomatoes, scrambled egg & toast...Very good value served by friendly staff. Tea or coffee were extra but the total bill for the two of us was just over £11...going to go &stay there in the new year.

Venue selected by a member of our group for Christmas dinner. The food was served with enthusiasm but quality and presentation very poor. Two bottles of basic red/white at £15 each was ridiculous. When similar hostelries are offering quality, restaurant style food for the same price, The Leaking Well cannot compete.

On the way to shopping in Merry Hill we planned an overnight Saturday stop ahead of the Sunday shopping day. The reviews were good and they were not wrong.

The food was absolutely excellent, as was the service we received. The bar staff were warm and friendly and the rooms spotless, warm (maybe too warm?) and in easy reach of the pub/restaurant. Prices wre not bad too, we will definetely call in again if passing throught the area.

Faults? minor, thin rooms - people walking around at 7am and you could hear their TV which woke us. Other than that - very little!

Room Tip: Only 6 rooms, all are fine

On the way back from a great weekend in Dorset with family we stopped here for Sunday lunch ! So glad we did it was delicious 5 of us had a carvery and one fish and chips ( our little nephew 2 ) had a small plate of everyones ! Although we had not booked we were given a table in a lovely part of the pub and nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff ! Would defo recommend this place and although it's a long way from where we live I shall be going back

We paid an impromptu visit to the newly taken over Leaking Well for the advertised Sunday carvery. It was very busy, but we didn't have to wait too long to be seated and fed. The Staff were very helpful and friendly and the food was lovely... Tasted like proper home cooked food and not like brought-in microwave meals, which you get in lots of pubs nowadays. The toilets were spotless too. The only downside was the front of the pub lacked atmosphere, not sure what was missing, but something was.... The large dining room at the back was very nice though.... We would definitely go back again and would recommend it....

WOW!! We chose this place simply as it was the nearest venue to a wedding we were attending & left the whole thing to the last minute.....
But what a surprise....
From the moment we arrived & thought oh?!.... what have we let ourselves in for..... I was shocked!!! The welcome was so friendly and set the pace for a couple of nights that we were there.....
There was simply nothing that was too much trouble for Claire, the general manager..... Our room was basic, but with everything we needed & spotless to a fault.
We had dinner... fillet steaks that were well cooked with the whole gumph that goes with them... tomatoes, mushrooms, salad, sauce, chips or potatoes.... for seventeen quid!!? We loved it. Debbie even fell down the well.... yes, there's a real well there!!!! And Claire rescued her!!!
Next day, after we'd had an all you can eat breakfast we had a wedding to go to... BUT...
The taxi we had booked didn't turn up.... we called, they were coming, then after a while Claire organised for Mark their "handy man" to take us in one of their own cars. Lovely guy he was too... So we got to the wedding just in time, & then Claire & her hubby came and picked us up at whatever time was convenient for us that night, rather than risking another taxi.
Claire came & found me at the wedding and then sat there in her car for another 20 minutes or so after we had said goodbye to everyone and then drove us back........ What a star she was!!!!
There's loads more I could add to this but don't want to bore others to death.... I've stayed in the Palazzo Versace in Brisbane & the Armani Hotel in Dubai..... but as far as personal & intimate service goes, this place, because of what Claire did for us, stands out head & shoulders..... which is why I wanted to say something on here so soon.
Thank you...... x x x
