Good service, great food, awesome breads and goodies. A great place to stop on Highway 3 in Greenwood, BC, the smallest city in Canada.

“Funky bakery cafe in a bit of a ghost town”
Reviewed June 18, 2012

Funky bakery cafe on Hwy #3 in a bit of a ghost town. I always stop here for great coffee, excellent bread (I leave with a few loaves everytime I drive through) and if the time is right, soup. The food is on the healthy side of indulgence and the staff know their products. The cafe is in an old building (Everything in this defunct mining town is old) that is beautifully restored. This time, when we walked in the door there was a tricycle of sorts on display. It looked a bit like a small farm tractor. Where the engine is on a tractor, they'd mounted an ancient Singer sewing machine. I wanted to climb on and take it for a spin. It was used in the last local parade. I love how this place changes and always has something whimsical on display. If you happen there in good weather there is a deck looking out at the valley and nearby there are several park-like areas. Nice gift shop with locally made crafts and fine art pieces is just across the street. Take a walk or a drive to see some of the old buildings in what was likely once a thriving (and wealthy) mining town. Courthouse, churches and old homes are a block off the highway and well worth a viewing.
