“GREAT BED!”
Reviewed June 18, 2013

We needed a place to sleep on our way to Fruitvale BC. We arrived about 10:30pm and the office was already closed. We rang the bell anyway and the owner was kind enough to open the office and rent us a room. We were so impressed with the bed and pillows. We have been to many 5 star resorts that don't have as good a bed and pillows as this place! The room was clean and had a small sitting space as well as the wonderful bed (did I mention how great the bed was? LOL) We totally recommend this place for anyone needing a place to stay on their way in the Kootenays.

We crossed another item off our bucket list last spring with a three night stay in Greenwood. We spent most of our first day at the Greenwood Museum. Then another day taking in the historic buildings and abandoned mine sites. Our last day was spent at nearby Grand Forks. We couldn't have asked for a more convenient place to stay. The unit was very clean and quiet. We had full amenities - high speed WiFi internet, cable TV, phone, microwave, fridge, coffee and a four piece bathroom. The motel was really dog friendly. Our Berner Collie enjoyed its spacious grounds and walks on the nearby Cross-Canada trail. The city centre of Greenwood is just a few blocks from the Motel. Greenwood is Canada's smallest city and claims to have the best quality water in Canada. We look forward to staying there soon again.

Halfway to Alberta (sorry Midway) and right on the Crowsnest Highway, this motel is convenient to motorists heading east or west. It's located across the street from one of the few and best remaining old time playgrounds with all those fun and 'dangerous' elements that have been dutifully removed from modern playgrounds! It's also a short walk to the swimming pool - a godsend after a hot day of driving.

The Greenwood Motel is a modest facility but it is always clean and the proprietors are prompt, fair (had another Greenwood motel charge my sister and her three small children when their van broke down miles away and they could not get to Greenwood.) and helpful. The prices are reasonable. The rooms each have a microwave and a TV with cable. In addition, if you're traveling with foods that need refrigeration, there is a small fridge with a freezer; just remember to turn the temperature dial if you want to keep something frozen.
The town of Greenwood is historic and if you like the idea of living on the edge of the Kootenays, the motel is also for sale! In the morning, head to the Anaconda Cafe for a grilled cinnamon bun!

We stayed at the Greenwood Motel for two nights. Although located on the highway it was quiet and peaceful - we slept well in the comfortable bed. The room was immaculate and we enjoyed our time in Greenwood, BC.
