We went here for lunch. It is right on the highway from CSL to La Paz. We ordered some nachos, a salad and a lamb brochette. Starting with the Greek salad. It was quite good. Vegetables in Mexico are often more flavorful than in the US and that was the case here with the tomatoes. My son liked his lamb brochette, but it was rather expensive at $190. My wife had the nachos with meat. While she did not complain, I thought they were mediocre. They were laced with a yellow runny cheese, and the meat was tasteless. One negative, is the day we were there the flies were buzzing around and made eating outside a bit of a chore.

My family and I, and our two teenage sons were taken to Don Crudo's by our Mexican guide from an ATV excursion. We met the fabulous, generous, and very enthusiastic Crudo. He gave us several samples of upcoming dishes (lamb ribs, who knew?) and sat and talked with us. The meal was revelatory and even though we were staying about 40 minutes away, we ate there an embarrassing number of times after that. The wait staff would laugh when we walked in, "They're back!" But seriously, this is amazing food, prepared by people who definitely care, by people who can only be grateful. It was our last meal on the way to the airport. We are going back for Valentine's Day and we are hoping there is more lamb steaming in the tamale pot. You don't have to be a genius to know where you can find us.

Just as you enter the lovely town of Los Barriles you will see the fountains. Now look across the Highway and there is Don Crudos Bar and Grill. Easy to miss but you will be glad that you don't. A small restaurant with great food and service. Seems everyone knows everyone and that is because the locals love this place. Us included.I had a craving for some chicken strips at lunch and they were not even on the menu but they had them in front of me in a jiffy. They were delishous. "Take out "also if the long day in the sun has you whipped, but if not, stay and play a lively game of pool ! You will be happy you stopped here.
