“Nice Course”

Mayan Palace Nuevo Vallarta Golf Course
Reviewed December 26, 2012

This is a course that is part of the Mayan resort complex. Course is a nice club style course, challanging, yet friendly enough not to give you a lot of trouble if can keep the ball relatively straight. I play it often and aways enjoy the round.

The course was nicely laid out. I found challenging and enjoyable at the same time! The caddy was very informative and knew just how the greens broke. Was not too happy about finding out at the end of my round that it costs 200 pesos for his fees! And the caddy is mandatory!!!

Lots to do for all ages. The little ones love the pools and the kids club. Staff are extremely friendly

We belong to a great collection of Nicklaus courses, and while this is not a signature courses, it is designed to play fast, be entertaining, and it achieves these goals, all helped along by caddies assigned to each group that keeps play moving. Both days we played in 4 hours, a few minutes either way, and without the caddies to supervise, you know many of the non-golfers that decide to play would turn this into a five hour experience. Congrats to the Vida group for doing something right!

If you are a scratch golfer, you need more of a challenge, but can still enjoy this "tourist friendly" Course. The slope rating will be very low, and the lineups to get onto the course are huge. In fact if you want to play this course, you better book several months in advance, or be prepared to "tip" the starter. You will not lose any balls on this course, but it does offer some challenges... and the caddies are all first rate.
