“Great food, attentive service, and a cooking school to boot!”
Reviewed March 7, 2013

I've heard great things about this little restaurant and finally ate there tonight. It looks like a little Mexican taco bar but it's much, much more. The menu looked a little limited but just ask for what you're interested in and they'll tell you if they can do it, or when they might be able to do it. I asked for coconut shrimp because a friend told me it was delicious. It wasn't on the menu but they made it into an appetizer for us. Excellent. It came with a mustard sauce --- maybe with mayonaise --- and good spices. Nice balance to the sweetness of the coconut. Would definitely order it again. Friends had the rib eye and some other kind of steak. They said it was perfect. They ordered American style baked potatoes, light and fluffy and cooked in foil over the grill. Came with crema and tocina (bacon). Left very satisfied and eager to go back and try their tortilla soup (heard it was good). Tonight they had pozole. Great service!

“It's very good !!!!”
Reviewed February 23, 2013

Right next to the healt clinic this is a cute little mexican grill restaurant with very good quality food.
I tried the tender VACIO stake it was delicious cooked to perfection, the portion comes with grilled onions, salad, beans and guacamole.
It was margarita happy hour and the Margarita was very good and you could tell they poured a fair amount of tequila in it. It was nice to sip on the margarita watching the sunset
Sit close to the grill or bar, the barman/cook is quite the character and very fun to watch.

“Grace has had a stand/restaurant in this area for years.”
Reviewed February 3, 2013

She moved to this location about two or three years ago. Simple Mexican food. Tip off that it's pretty good and reasonable is that local maids and other workers eat there in addition to visitors. We have only eaten lunch but do so probably once a week. Nice variety of tacos, wife swears by their quesadillas. Daily comida corrida for around 55-60 pesos that includes soup, entree, typical sides and fruit water. Six tacos and two beverages come in at 92 pesos or about $7.25 which feeds two people. Try the pozole when they have it.l Big bowl, tortillas and fruit water 55 pesos as I recall. Open for dinner now too but closed Sundays.

“Wonderful food”
Reviewed January 8, 2013

La Isla is a wonderful truly local outdoor restaurant. It is across from the Bahia del Sol, next to the urgent care clinic. The owner and cook Grace is a delight is the whole staff. We have tried just about everything on the menu. My favorite are the tortas. Sandwiches made with any of the meats they have. When we are here we eat there about 3 times a week. The huevos rancheros are excellent!
