This restaurant is in front of Fajita Republic, another favorite that we frequent. Last night we treated ourselves to El Dinamita, which has the same owner as FR. We had a great time and Alex, the head waiter and his staff took great care of the five of us. We were greeted at the door by Alex who explained the menu and drinks arrived quickly. The food was excellent. Alex recommended that we entrust him to select our meal based on the size and likes & dislikes of our group. There was plenty of seafood for the seafood lovers and beef/chicken for the others.
We had a variety of drinks including, Mojitos, Margaritas and a brazilian drink similar to a Mojito that was recommended by waiter, Jorge. Jorge also suggested an after dinner shooter that tastes like Chocolate cake. The ladies really liked it! All in all a terrific time and nice departure from the typical mexican meal experience. It will be a tough choice for us in the future deciding between Fajita Republic or El Dinamita!

Went here with my girlfriend on the first evening of our vacation, after reading the reviews here on TA. I can see where the good ratings come from, it really is a great atmosphere: rustic tables outside on a patio under big trees, a mariachi playing, dim lights, it really gives you that 'vacation' feeling.

The service is very geared towards (North-American) tourist, I personally like a more amicable style and have the feeling I'm actually in a different country.

The food was ok, but nothing special. The fish taco's had mushrooms in them, not a match made in heaven. My grilled tuna was good (deep red as it should be), the accompanying salad a bit boring. They kept saying how they only served the best of the best, I would personally let the food speak for itself before saying that. Another thing is that we didn't get to see menu's, we had to ask how much drinks/food were, which I always find a bit uncomfortable.

The bill in the end was pretty substantial ($850 pesos for food, two drinks and a bottle of wine) for Mexican standards, we ate in other restaurants during our stay where the food was way better and twice as cheap.

Conclusion: an awesome atmosphere, but a very touristy experience. That could be what you're after when you're in Nuevo since the town is build for North American tourists, if you like more authentic, take the bus to PV or to one of the little places at the side of the road coming into NV.

This was our second time at this restaurant (because we liked it) and they did not disappoint. The service the menu and the atmosphere was great. All the tables are outside under the patio but with the great climate of Nuevo Vallarta that is an non issue. T he location is right across the street from Vallarta adventures, if you know where that is Paseo Cocoteros, Junto a fajita republic, Phone 297-7694. Check it out you will like it. And if you don't there is another restaurant within steps of this one.

El Dinamita was the first restaurant we went to on our 5 night stay in Nuevo Vallarta, and the last. One visit was just not enough. Our group of 4 women loved everything about this place. Service, ambience and food were excellent!!!! Thank you Alex and staff for 2 incredible evenings.
