This place is not really a restaurant. It is a small grill in a small building with lots of outdoor tables. (Some of the tables have a plastic dome over them in case of rain.) They never gave us a menu to look at, insisting on custom designing a meal to our tastes. We tried the "dinamita" appetizer. It was excellent. We also had the fish tacos, which were good but included Mexican sausage. Then we tried the shrimp combo, 5 breaded and 5 coconut. The breaded shrimp was good. The coconut shrimp was overcooked and rubbery. And it cost more than any of our other restaurant meals.

“Dining SURPRISE!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 13, 2012

This was our best meal while on vacation! The reviews are true...they ask you what you like and don't like to eat and then surprise you with awesome food. There were 6 of us and the dishes were big enough that all of us could eat a big serving of everything brought out. We were so full when the last plate of tacos came out that we didn't even eat them. Our favorite dishes were the escargot (weird in MX?), tuna poke with baked flour tortilla chips, some rice/casserole dish named dynamite...ALL of it was excellent. They don't specialize in desserts and after being so full it was too much. The atmosphere is basically a bunch of picnic tables out under a huge tree and right next to a pond. I had to ask for bug spray in the middle of the meal because I was being eaten alive by something. And it was so hot and humid while we were there that they did have huge fans to keep us cool. All of us agree it was an awesome experience and would return again on our next visit. Dinner for 6 adults, 2 alcoholic beverages each, plus 3 desserts was $165 USD. We left a $50 tip because the service and food was THAT GOOD.

Delish! Great prices! Jorge is an absolute delight. Take him up on his offer to design your dinner - you won't be disappointed. Easy to get to from Nuevo Vallarta resorts.

“Went two nights in a row -Yes it was that good!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 25, 2012

My wife and I had such a great experience the first night, we decided to back for a second night. The first night for apetizers we had the Tune Poke and the Seafood Dynomite. The Tuna poke is out of this world, so fresh and soo very tasty if you like fresh rare tuna. The dynamite was a combination of shrimp, scallops, fish all mixed together served on a bed of rice of melted butter and what I think was cheese, also very yummy. George was very attentive to every detail and made our dinning a great pleasure. Very fresh seafood, I loved it.

“Unique dining experience!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 20, 2012

I have never been to a restaurant like Dinamita. When we sat down, the server did not hand us a menu, but asked us what kind of food we like and told us that he wanted to create a special meal for us. First he started by asking us about our drink preferences and he created a frozen mojito for me, very unique. For entrees, we had fajitas, but prepared differently that we had ever had. The meat and vegetables were presented in a lava rock guacamole mole with a really delicious light sauce sizzling in the bottom. We also had coconut shrimp. For dessert we had fried ice cream, which was the best dessert we had on the trip. If you are a bit adventurous, you should not miss the restaurant. You will enjoy the experience!
