Description: We take pride in feeding both body and soul since the year 2000. Charming family ambiance with a splendid view of the marina, surrounded by art. Meeting point for artists, writers and thinkers. AAA rated 2 diamonds. Look us up in the Mexico Tour Book. Home cooked family recipes. Strictly fresh, natural ingredients, preferably organic, cooked in traditional, no-nonsense ways. We adhere to the "slow food" movement for proper cooking and enjoying. During high season (October through April), we serve breakfast , lunch and dinner Monday through Thursday. Friday, Saturday and Sunday we serve breakfast and lunch only. In low season (May to July) dinner is not served. We close August and September.

“Nice, and personable”
Reviewed October 14, 2013

This little gem is hidden behind the main street, ,but right infront of the Nuevo Marina, next to Dolphin adventure and behind Portobello and 8 Tostadas. It's within easy walk from back door of Grand Mayan, and if you are in Paradise Village area.. take the trolley, or bus and ask to stop by Dolphin Adventure / portobello. This is a great little breakfast place ( closed at 3p) owned by an artist in a Hacienda style building and he has the breakfast restaurant in the patio in front of his studio and his dinning home. Very charming and hospitable and wonderful, very reasonably price food ( $5 to $7 for breakfast). They close in the summer months,, but just open up last week ( 10/1) . You just may walk out with full stomach and some art work. Owner is originally from Mexico city and does oil paintings, large and small. This is a very nice departure from typical restaurants and commercial hotel services.

“great coconut shrimp”
Reviewed March 22, 2013

I had some of the best coconut shrimp that I've had visiting the Puerto Vallarta area in the last 13 years. Tortilla Soup and hamburger were also deemed VERY good. Unfortunately everyone staying in Nuevo Vallarta already knew this. Our party of 6 had reservations so we were promptly seated but service was painfully slow...even to get a drink. Even the delightful owners' pre-teen daughter was pressed into service!!!! Waiting was tolerable by browsing in the studio. Too bad my luggage or check book could not accommodate any of my favorite pieces. The small porch is a nice setting...maybe they just have to limit the number of diners they try to feed!!!

We will return maybe trying to go early or late. Check the daily special because coconut shrimp is not always on the menu!!!
