“spend a little more”
Reviewed March 19, 2012

Spend a little more and get a decent vacation. The service here was very good, but the food a big disappointment. The rooms are modest but with great views of the ocean. No balconies. Great beach but poorly furnished. I would not swim in the one pool that they had as its cloudy nature made it not look safe. For a little bit more money, get a four star.

Fantastic hotel in a central location in Nuevo Vallarta. Right on the beach, gorgeous views from your room, what more can you ask for?! The hotel is a simple outlay, with a new side rebuilt not too long ago. A minute walk to the marina where you can sample tapas, eddies place and the tranquility of the classical estudio cafe.Staff cannot do enough for you, so nice and helpful. Especially Hugo. I would deffo recommend this hotel, if you want a real mexican holiday experience.

Just got back from a week at PV. The hotel staff were all pretty friendly. The front desk staff spoke enough english but could have been better. In fact there was a waiter who spoke far better english and probably should have been staffed there. The pools were cold and despite what is on their website, none of them are heated - except by the sun. I brought that to their attention and I see that it still hasn't been changed. In fact, the ocean seemed warmer. The grounds were clean and room was nice. It was our first time staying at an all inclusive so I'm not sure if it was standard, but the breakfast was the same every morning, it didn't begin until 8:30, lunch didn't begin until 2:30 but you could eat at the snack bar beggining at 12:30. In general, it didn't seem to cater to Americans eating times. During the week the hotel was quite. On the weekend there was a lot of Mexicans guests staying at the hotel, and it seemed like the food got better over the weekend when they were there. And the bed was so rock hard we slept on the futon matress in the room, which was a slight improvement. Overall, it was a nice visit but next time we will look for a place with a more useable pool as our fair skin can't handle sitting on the beach long.

How do you know your hotel is good? All the nationals stay there. The hotels was friendly, clean, Welcoming. Food was delicious. Centrally located for lots of exploring and beach was GREAT!
I played water polo with 10 spanish speaking patrons and had a great time. There were no snobs or people trying to out do they neighbour. This hotel is for those who want to be in Mexico, not a resort sheltered from the city they are visiting and surrounded by 18ft walls and guards. Book your room, take your swim suit and flip flops, sunscreen. Be prepared to relax.

Room Tip: Ask for a supeior room in Tower 3, only 4 floors 3 & 4 have the best views.

My husband and I really enjoyed everything about this place. Really friendly and helpful staff, great beach and good breakfast. It seems like alot of locals stay here so that just added to the atmosphere of the whole place, I really felt like we were on vacation in Mexico. Good restaurants close by and the city bus stop is right outside the hotel so it's easy to go and explore the area.
We can't wait to go back with the whole family in 2014.

stayed at this hotel from Feb. 5 Feb 19, 2012. General overall experience was very good. clean, pleasant staff, very helpful. beds and pillows were soft and comfortable! room was good size, even has a bathtub, though the water was never hot. all inclusive food was very basic but ok. breakfasts good, lunches usually the best of all, dinners, ok. drinks at the bar are terrible! not really alcohol: some sort of imitation! so stick to wine and beer and you'll be ok. beach is very safe, nice to walk and or swim. bikes need some work! but fun none the less. there is a flea market just past the Mayan resort, so down the beach a short walk. the hotel is a little out of the way, from PV, so we were on the bus a lot. all in all good and would recommend.

Room Tip: king beds, on the ocean side

This was our second year in a row staying at this hotel. The first time they did not give us the rooms promised, so before we left this time we called to verify and all was good till we got there and once again we got lower grade rooms. On the paper work in print it showed the correct rooms but they drew a line threw the room numbers and gave us a lower end room. So that started the vacation off bad from the second we got there. The first night the power went down so we had no lights or air conditioning in the room. Also the beds are hard as a rock, I over heard several people talking about that also. The breakfast is good, but the other two meals not so good. The staff is great and always put a smile on your face. Over all it is a good value, but it is no 5 star hotel. If you are the active type who is just in your room to sleep this place will work fine.
