Please do not listen the half empty ones, there is no place on earth that makes them happy.
Marival is really great place. Staffs are really nice and helpful. I have no complain on foods also. Foods are cooked grains, meat, poultry, milk products, ripen fruits, etc wherever you go, star or Diamond. When you are really hungry just pizza and beer will make you happy but nothing can satisfy you if you are not hungry and looking for fuss. Adults pool is really cool. You can have fun whole day with your kids in another pool which is very kid friendly.
The hotel is little far from the downtown which takes an hour if you take local bus ( I suggest you to take local bus, if you want to save money, its completely safe which costs around 2 dollars to get to downtown, taxi costs 25 dollars). If you are planning 7 days vacation you have to go out and experience some excursions as well, otherwise you wont have anything to do inside hotel except taking sunbath and hanging around pool, there are few stuffs like speedboat and parachute on the hotel beach though.
Get rid of the Timeshare agents please. Once you shake hands and sit with them on the same table you will feel like being on a trap. We wasted half of our first day trying to escape them. We were shown 89, 105 dollars options in the beginning and were given the sheet with 30,000- 40,000 $ membership fees in the end.
I would rather go to different city or different country to have other experience too but very strongly recommend Marival to someone who hasnt been there once, Its a good place!

Room Tip: Every room is said to have ocean view. But try to get 3rd, or 4th floor for wider view!

Our week long visit to this all inclusive resort was much better than expected after viewing several negative reviews. I guess some people have bizarre expectations and freak as the sight of an insect. We found the service to be very good - people worked hard to provide a great experience. Restaurant food was mostly excellent though not so easy to get reservations. Our room was ideal. The only negative was some of the rowdy clientele. Staff have to put up with many loud drunken Canadians - such an embarrassment!

If you are looking for a cheap all inclusive you will get what you pay for. Cheap food, staff that dont care about you enjoying your vacation and really loud rooms no matter how many requests you make for a quiet location. They charge extra for room service, wont stock your fridge with anything but water and soda, wont allow you to eat at the pool or order food at the pool and charge for a room safe.
The beach is great and pools are nice too, the lobby and pool area are much nicer than the rooms. the rooms are nothing special and adequate. i wouldnt go back or waste money there.

Room Tip: nothing helps, i emailed the concierge before we arrived and even met in person with them and they s...

I had done a lot of research with trip advisor on our family holiday. We chose this resort for the Kids Club and were definitely not disappointed! It was run fantastically by the entertainment staff, who were very friendly, and the kids loved the crafts, the theme days (especially pirate day Mondays). They were very good at their work, cause god only knows my children can be a handful. The rest of the entertainment staff was a blast as well, organizing poolside games, beach volleyball, theatrical shows, Bingo, theme nights, and after it was all over take the party goers to Vallarta to the clubs! These people love their jobs and really promote the "Friendly Vallarta" title!

The two bedroom suite was awesome for the family, though we had to upgrade to a ground floor as my father can't handle the stairs, but it was oceanfront and right beside the pool and was well worth the extra 50 bucks a night. Two king size bed, bedrooms with their own bathrooms, a living room with a queen sized hide a bed, a semi kitchen with table chairs and a third bathroom.

The food was just ok at the buffet, but anytime your cooking for lots of people, quality goes down, forcing you to be creative. But if you take the time they have unlimited al Cartes, and even do lunches! The wood fired pizza ovens were great late at night when the kids were in bed!

Traditionally I have not like hotel discos because they are always dead. This was true a few nights but was good other nights, and being in Neuveo Vallarta it was not really great for the club hoppers, though the entertainment crew will get you there if you like!

I would guess that about 50 percent of the hotel was Canadian, the rest was split pretty much evenly between Mexican families, and Americans, mostly from the mid west states. Normally I find a lot of Americans rude, but these were not like that! I referred to them as Southern Canadian not American ( though I meant this as a compliment, I'm not sure that they got it.. Lol)

We met a couple from the residence, went with them to check it out, the staff was very rude and refused to let us past the lobby. The other couple says they will not stay there again and that it was a older crowd and boring. I may consider the residence if I was a senior and had money to burn, but found that quite rude!

All and all this was a fantastic vacation! This trip was my treat for the kids, next one they gotta save allowance money. All have been eager(so far...) to do their chores and make money for next year! I would strongly recommend this resort for couples families with children, and even singles, you'll have a great time!

Room Tip: Ask for a two bedroom suite instead of two separate rooms if travelling with three or more! For 50...

I was extremely disappointed in this hotel. We arrived at 6:30pm and were told that no one was available to assist us with room requests or answer questions. Then a gentleman at the counter told us that we would find out what was included in our package at a breakfast meeting at 9am and that "by law they have to tell us about it". I have stayed all-inclusive many times before and this has been typical of a few other places, with the exception of the "by law" part...so whatever.

Well, they take us to breakfast and it becomes quickly apparent that this has NOTHING to do with our "package" that we signed up for at the hotel. It is time share. Ugh. I have no interest in time share. They have now wasted half my first day.

I DID learn that they don't give you the best food unless you sign up for the time share. You don't have access to the nicest part of the hotel. They weren't kidding. I was NOT impressed by the fact that this hotel HOLDS back amenitites from people who pay for all-inclusive to give them to people who sign up for TIME-SHARE! WHAT??? We spent the week feeling like second-class citizens. There is a VIP section of the beach for time-share only, and the gentleman selling the time share was soo not kidding about the food not being as good on the non-time share side. In the buffet restaurant, it was hard to find anything edible! We travel to all-inclusives nearly every year and have always enjoyed the buffets. This one was horrible. When you arrive, be SURE to book every restaurant you can on every night you can. Avoid the buffet at all costs. Even the restaurants are just okay. The Italian is proabably the best.

I must say, the two things that were great at this hotel are the staff and the drinks. AMAZING staff! They are great! They know what they are doing and they usually treat you great! Especially if you treat them with respect as well.

The drinks are top shelf and they know how to pour! Wha hoo! I haven't seen an all-inclusive that knows how to pour like this one does! Kudos on this! On staff and drinks, I would give it a 5 Stars.

The rooms were nice, too, but we had a bee hive outside of our room and were always dancing around live and dead bees everywhere. ???!!! This was a daily occurance, which was not fun with bare feet.

The beach was pretty great--long and well kept. You did have to deal with the vendors, but note they are EMPLOYED by the HOTEL. NOT KIDDING! There is a hut at the end of the hotel's beach selling the goods. They check in and out from there with their materials. If you don't like what they are carrying, they will run up there and grab more. HA! They are sweet, sweet people and you see them enough to get to know them. They are making a living, too. I just don't like the hotel taking yet another advantage of you--and them.

Room Tip: Request a room as high up as possible for the best view of the ocean. Also, call concierge for a mat...

We stayed Jan 12-19. We have been to Riveria Nayarit many times, but this was our first time here at the Marival.
We got a one bedroom suite in the Club side (it had 2 bathrooms)and we loved it. An Ocean view would be the only extra we would have liked.
The Food was for the most part Great...the buffet can be repetitious, but so can they all.
The pizza place was great, the la bamba beach bar.and all drinks were outstanding! We loved it here!
The Mexican fiesta onwed night was superb, and the Marachi band that performed were top notch! I didnt get their name, but they deserve accolades for a great performance!
We took our own drink cups, and found that better than, using the plastic cups.
We had no issues with time share people at all..at checkin we said ,we are not interested in time share,,, and the front desk clerk just gave us our wristbands..we never got hassled at all.
Nolitours has wi fi zones ( we did not use this) but its an extra perk for Nolitours customers, plus they have weekly happy hour parties..
Go to your briefing with your tour rep,and get the info.
We had a massage at the hotel spa..which was good, and another one at the Patty spa down the beach
and that price was even less.and very good! check it out..
Book the Marivalwith confidence,it is a big big resort, with lots to offer, and can please most clients!
