Clean, good food, friendly staff, lots of activities (i.e. kayaking, catamaran, boogey board, several pools including separate kid pool, beach volleyball, soccer field, rock climbing wall, tennis courts, game room, mini putt etc) and daily programs led by staff. Seems to be a good program for the kids there as well. Weather was fanastic too. Bit cool at night

My husband and I just returned from another visit to the Marival. As usual the resort was beautiful and the wait staff was amazing. My husband commented that the food seemed better this time than the last couple we were there. From the first time we stayed 10 years ago, we were made to feel like family. Francisco at La Bamba ~ I miss you and wish I could bring you home with me. Mirriam at Casa Bella ~ each time we arrive you remember our previous visits. Pedro ~ March 19th our families will have fun together thank you for the invite.

The second best part of the resort (other than the amazing people that take care of you every moment) is the proximity of the pools to the beach. You can be sitting by the pool and hear the waves and in steps be on the beach. You can walk for miles in either direction and the mountains that surround the area are quite impressive.

I would have to say the only downsides to the vacation were the fact that again I requested reservations on line at the Marival website and when we arrived at the resort they claimed they had no email from me even though I had confirmation from each restaurant that my email was received. As such we only were able to get reservations for two of the seven nights we were there. Also our children called the resort the evening of our arrival and were told we had not arrived which set them into a panic. They continued to call the resort every half hour from 6 pm till 11 pm (we arrived at 4 pm) and finally spoke to someone who rang our room. I don't want to see that telephone bill. The management and behind the scenes staff seem to always miss a step or two ~ which is why we have been reluctant to become members through the timeshare program.

If you are trying to decide were to stay for your vacation ~ the Marival is beautiful and you will feel well taken care of by the staff you come into contact with daily.

We just come back from our second stay at the Marival. Service was once again excellent. Milli at the Mexican restaurant and Judith at Casa Bella always make us feel welcome. The gentleman running the water equipment rentals was always smiling and just appeared to love his job. I did notice this year that things seem to be cut back a bit from last year. No fresh tacos at the Pizza snack bar this year and the Mexican fiesta was on a much smaller scale, but all in all it was still a fanastic resort. I do recommend people try not to stay in rooms above the lobby bar it stays pretty noisy until about midnight. Also my phone didn't work in my room for the second year in a row,but it isn't worth it to sweat the small stuff so i didn't call to get it fixed. Between myself and my family (9 in all ages from 12-59) we were entertained and relaxed. We will all go back again in a heartbeat.

Room Tip: The rooms above the club lobby bar stay noisy until about midnight.

Just back from two weeks at Marival The weather was as usual perfect and the hotel lived up to all my expectations. There are eight restaurants to choose from and for breakfast and lunch we always chose Casa Bella which is a buffet restaurant. I defy anyone not to find something they really enjoy there, and the staff are so willing to please and bring you drinks or the "cafe de maquina" which is a very lovely coffee brew. Of the other restaurants the Mexican one "La Paloma" is by far the best and the flambe coffees are spectacular. We played tennis every morning and in the afternoon spent leisurely hours under the palapas reading, with a cold beverage whenever we felt like it!!!I Went with my husband, We are both in our 80's and daughters and son in law joined us for one week at which time we had lots of laughs and played bingo, water polo and volley ball. Yes even at our age, we can join in!!

We have been there quite a few times and we never tire of the ambiance, the friendly staff and the fun activities group which keep us entertained during the day and at the nightly shows.

Room Tip: I like the ground floor, Avoids stairs or waiting for elevators.

Just got back from Club Marival for our first visit. We have been travelling for 25 years in which we have been to Puerto Vallarta 11 times at different resorts.Hands down this is the best resort we have ever been to. There is not a place on the resort that is not spotless. The staff never stop manicuring every detail from room to pools and grounds. The food on this resort is incredible. The buffet is second to none. It has it all. We where there for American Thanksgiving and had the best turkey meal ever. Including all the fixings ,dressing, cranberries, mashed potatoes, pumpkin pie. Was incredible. They also have the best pasta lamb quail and all the theme night specials. Something for everyone. The specialty resteraunts are as good or better than any high end we have ever had anywhere. Cheers to all the staff, management.and owners to a class place. We cant wait until next year.

Room Tip: ask for a ocean and pool view. Really worth it.

My boyfriend and I returned from the Marival after a one week stay (the first week of November). We were hoping to stay in the Mayan Riviera but because of hurricane Rita we opted for the west coast and we weren't disappointed. The Marival is a well cared for hotel, the grounds were immaculate. For an extra $90 per night we upgraded our basic room to a one bedroom suite overlooking the ocean and it was well worth it! Also the rooms didn't smell musty or damp which was nice. Our location was perfect and we had a beautiful view overlooking the ocean and pool. You had a variety of pools to choose from whether you wanted some peace and quiet in the adults pool, the activities in the main pool, the kiddie pool with slides for the young ones or our favorite the "family" pool where you could sit and drink (swim up bar) and lounge around without the hassle of joining up for activities. The food at the Marival was more than we had expected. The breakfast buffet had a pancake/waffles/french toast and crepes station with every possible condiment to put on them which was amazing. There was also an omelet station that made out of this world omelets. The lunch buffet and dinner buffet were similar. At dinner there was always a different theme (the Mexican and Asian were our favorite.) there is defiantly something for everyone, even the picky eaters! Although one odd thing we noticed is they have no ham there, only hot dogs cut up into pieces. There is also a pizzeria that is open 5pm till 2am, so we'd always grab a few slices to go on our way back from the disco at night. The drinks at the bars were great and all top shelf alcohol. Try the bloody Caesars, they are delish! We only attended one of the night shows in the theater, but we wish we would have gone and seen a few more, the one we did see was hilarious. The beach was beautiful, nice white soft sand, and most days had some decent waves if you wanted to do some boogie boarding. The people selling things on the beach were never too aggressive and would leave you alone as soon as you said you weren't interested. The only real negative we had on this trip were the time share people. We read a million reviews that told us to ignore them but we got suckered in and went to the presentation anyway. (with the offer of a $90 voucher for anything in the hotel). The presentation itself was fine, only lasted 90 minutes, and we got to tour the Marival Residents (which was quite beautiful as well) but they got incredibly pushy and wouldn't take no for an answer once the tour was over. The manager got quite aggressive and we ended up walking out. Do yourself a favor and skip it!
All in all it was a great trip!

Room Tip: We stayed in building 3 (room 3104) and it had the best of everything, quiet, great view, and close...

I recently stayed at this resort and had a great time! The food was superb, both at the buffet and the la cartes. The beds were comfortable, everything was clean, but there's no liquor in the room and no room service. You can pay a fee to have them though. There were no elevators in our building which was kind of a pain, but the climb didn't kill us. The resort is huge, with lots of bars and places to eat. There weren't any servers in the pool area or the beach so you always had to get your own drinks. The biggest complaint we had was the push for membership. We agreed to it in order to get some marival dollars (which we used towards massages). We didn't think all the questions they were asking were appropriate (how much money you make). It would have been better if our presenter had started with explaining exactly what he was doing and why he'd be asking the questions he did. We finally just made it clear to him that we were only in it for the marival $ and then he backed off. The following massages were amazing! So relaxing. The pool entertainment staff was excellent. They always had something on the go for those who were interested. And they had an adults only pool, which really was adults only and was very quiet during the day. We creeped on a couple weddings during the week and they both looked amazing. Really nice setups. I can't say enough good things about the staff. Most of them were really friendly, especially the bartenders and servers at the sports bar. They would see us coming and start making our drinks lol The couple of shows were saw were good, and the disco was fun. We had a great time, but I can say I would definitely not want to go during a busier time of year. The resort is huge and I just wouldnt' enjoy having that many people around.
