“It's all about the beach!”
Reviewed February 14, 2014

My wife and I were guests of a couple who have a time share at Paradise VIllage. The highs: amazing beach (you can walk for miles, soft sand), very nice beach huts with helpful staff bringing you drinks and food as needed, very nice fitness and spa facilities, easy transportation on shuttles (free) or taxis depending on where you are going and clean, comfy rooms.

No real lows, but things are not amazing: vendors on the beach (they are not pushy, but there are many of them), the time share approach (we sat through the presentation so that we could get discounts on golf and other attractions) always adds a bit of tension, but the staff was very friendly throughout the resort. We have stayed at many resorts around the world and would grade the food at the resort as better than average... good, not great. That said, we did not have the all-inclusive option and went to several amazing restaurants all around Nuevo Vallarta and Puerta Vallarta...

Would we go back? Absolutely!!

Room Tip: Our room was overlooking the marina... I would recommend this location for its view of the sunrise...

We've been going to Paradise Village Beach Resort & Spa for many years. The resort is generally filled to capacity during the Christmas holidays. That's why we decided to move our vacation to a later date. The best time seems to be right before the spring breaks.
Paradise Village always offer a variety of activities to keep you busy. We loved those 'theme nights'.
The facilities are well taken care of. The service is excellent, and the accommodations are first class.

Room Tip: If you prefer peace and quiet, choose a room which does NOT face the bay. The constant noise from th...

"Welcome Home" That's what they say when you arrive and that's how you will feel, we hate to leave.

The grounds, buildings, beach, restaurants are immaculate. The staff of the entire facility are the most friendly and gracious people you will have take care of you. We have been going for 4 years and each year it is better, this year we spent 2 weeks and loved every minute of it.

The Therapists at the Palanquin Spa are the most kind and provide the most wonderful therapy treatments, You must try and you will enjoy the services.

The food is exceptional, love the Theme Nights, get the all inclusive it will save you lots of money with unlimited food and drinks, it even covers the tax and includes 15% of the tip in the price per day.

Just go you will love the intimacy of the property and people and the ease of walking to the beach or spa within a minute or two.

Dirty hotel rooms, Cheesy theme, Horrible food, Bad staff & time share hound dogs all over.

We booked our vacation from December 1-8, upon arrival at the airport we were greeted by time share people before we even got to our cab. He wasted half an hour of day light and half an hour of our vacation before even getting to the resort! Check in went alright until we entered our room #4107. I have never stayed in a hotel room so dirty in my life. Hair, mold and pee all over the toilet (See photos) I went straight back to the front desk to complain and was told we would not be moved for at least two days. The front desk is no help at all!!!! We headed out for food and what a mess that is!!!! You have to wait in line to get a table at a buffet. Then once you have your table you can proceed to get your food. (which is a bad selection of crap) Problem is, Once we got our plates and returned to our table, The staff had already given it to other guests. None of the staff there seem to know whats going on, Nor do I think they care. After you eat, You can not leave your table until you find a waiter to print your receipt to sign. A complete waste of time!!! After our first evening we were ready to leave!!!!! We contacted our vacation company and they rebooked us a new resort! I would never stay at this resort again, Even if I was paid to do so.....

Room Tip: Do not stay here! It is a timeshare trap!!!

My wife and I have been coming to Paradise Village for many years and have never had a bad experience.

What are our secrets?
Learn a little Spanish. It won't kill you and the people will respect you a lot and be willing to go the extra mile for you.
Smile a lot- see 2 above
Learn their name and use it. Most of the people wear a name tag. If not- como se Yama? See 2 above

We have traveled throughout the world for 30plus years and the above combination is deadly. It always seems to work

Now for Paradise Village. It is a great place to come and relax. Good food, good accommodations, really good people, and a great great beach. Ok it's not the Four Seasons(down the road about 40kilometers) but it's not priced that way either.
We do not get the all inclusive because we want the freedom to go where we want for dinner or drinks either at the resort or not. Does this cost more? I'm sure it does but I want the freedom. Will I keep coming here. you betcha!

We had reservations for Paradise Village. The check-in process was a mess! It was Feb. 1, the start of a long holiday week-end for Mexico and the hotel had run a week-end special all-inclusive. Lines were long, the wait was long, and the rooms were not ready until 4pm. I guess they oversold the hotel, because we were moved to the Playa Royale, a condo-type complex associated with Paradise Village. OUR LUCKY DAY!!

Playa Royale was beautiful, clean, and quiet. No restaurant, no all-inclusive over-indulgers, no activities. Just quiet, friendly people, sun and ocean! There is a regular pool, a childrens pool, a hot tub, and of course, the beach with plenty of grass umbrella's (forget what they were called).

A big plus - there are 4 good restaurants (not counting the resorts) within walking distance plus more at the marina, a short taxi ride away.

A minus - you have to take a taxi to the Mega grocery store. Paradise Village does have a small grocery that is just a little more expensive, but fine if you are just there a week or 2 and plan on eating dinners out.

For the most part was very good, waiter service wasn't very quick and once checked out with the pink bands service was worse because no more tips I guess. The buffets were ok but not great.
Will not do all inclusive again, don't think we ate and drank enough to make it worth our while
