“Great Resort- Clean rooms, beautiful beach and resort”
Reviewed June 8, 2013

We exchanged through Interval and spent a week here, LOVED it! We had a 1 bedroom and our room had an amazing view of the marina. The accomadations were spacious and very clean! The unit even had a kitchen and 2 bathrooms. The bed is very firm, too firm for my personal taste but you can request a matress topper which helps if you prefer a softer mattress. Our room was in the main tower (4) and was close to both pools. There is always plenty of seating on the beach with plenty of palapas. The beach water is great for boggie boarding and the shoreline is clean and long for those who like to walk or run on it. The only complaint we had about being on the beach is the beach vendors come by too much. Even though you say no thanks, there are two more vendors coming by a few minutes later. They do not allow vendors at the pool so we sometimes left the beach to avoid the constant beach vendors. We ate at the resort a few times and found it was about half the price to eat at the restaraunts at the mall on the property. We did buy the drink tickets, saves you $ on both sodas and alcoholic drinks. We purchased some food at the market and kept it in the kitchen in the room. All the staff at the resort is friendly and helpful. They keep the resort looking great, there are always cleaning. Activities staff was also wonderful! We would definetly stay here again if visiting this area. We also recommend the following dining places in the on site mall- Neopalitos and Jude. We were never hassled at the resort for timeshare presentations but do be careful at the airport, they will bug you there. We did get suckered into a presentation but got a bunch of free gifts so its a personal choice. If I had the choice again I would firmly say no to all timeshare presentations, if you are not going to buy, don't waste your time and theirs! At Paradise Village, this was never a problem, staff was great!

Room Tip: Marina view is beautiful and in a quieter area of the resort

We have been to Paradise Village two years in a row. Last year we bought a timeshare at this beautiful resort, and plan on returning every year. This visit we brought 3 of our young adult kids (one 21 year old, & two 18 year olds). We had a 2 bedroom suite in tower 3 of the main building. We stayed 12 days, last 2 weeks of May. The weather was beautiful, 33+ degrees, and the ocean was very nice temp. We bought our own groceries & alcohol at the supermarket at the mall. We still took advantage of a few of the theme nights, but they were quite pricy. ($30+ per person). We did buy the drink tickets which was a great deal, and very convenient when we were on the beach or at the pool. $33 for 10 drink tickets. The one & only complaint was the music at the kids pool was very, very loud. Next time, I think we will stay at the quiet, adult only pool. We wanted to have Carlos as our server that is the only reason we stayed around the loud pool, but next time, we'll opt for the quieter area. We went into Bucerias one day for lunch and the market, which was quite the experience. The vendors are very, "eager" for your business, our kids enjoyed that whole "bartering" thing. The "disco" night club at the resort was only open a couple nights, until 10:30 or so which was too bad, because our kids really enjoyed the karaoke nights. Keep in mind this is definitely a quiet, non partying resort. I really think it tries to cater to the retired couples, or families with young children. We chartered a fishing boat for 4 hours one day, cost $250. If you book a fishing charter through the Vallarta Adventures, it would be double that price, so we got a pretty good deal, and caught probably close to 20 fish.
Superb customer service all around. Many, many thanks to Carlos.
We will be back again next April-May. Love, love this resort!!

Room Tip: marina view is very nice, & much cheaper

A clean and comfortable resort with a nice beach, swimming pools and restauarts. Our studio room had 2 double beds, a bathroom and full kitchen and balcony. Its within walking distance of a small shopping centre and supermarket but for us too far from the heart of Puerto Vallarta. They have two tigers at the resort which are part of a successful tiger breeding program however we felt sorry for the tigers in their cages and felt they did not belong there.
We had dinner at a couple of the restaurants which were good and lunch at the snack bars on the beach. We were not hassled about timeshare presentation possibly because we told them we live too far away in Australia.

Great Resort for children and old people, they just don't have any fun middle age activities in general and don't expect anything on tuesday, ain´t no night activities at all.. had a very nice "Noche Mexicana" with Mariachi & Tequila on monday night, but on tuesday, even though Mexico's National Soccer Team played vs Jamaica there was not even a sign on the local bar supporting "El Tri's Soccer Game vs Jamaica" (No. 1 Sport in Mexico).
Good thing was that today we went Scuba Diving to the Marietas Islands (where Jack Cousteau documental saved the marvelous spot) I just love scuba diving, that's one main activity that I'm interested in.. took lessons and got my certification three years ago @ Benthos Dive in the Olimpic Pool at Ciudad Universitaria (100% trustworthy 3 month certification avalated by CMAS & FMAS). But well in general the hotel is great, the service and personal attention at it's best.. came to a congress two years ago and had the best juvenal attitude.. think it´s a better deal on bussiness.
I´ll get my complete comment of Scuba Diving in Vallarta suggestion at the activities section with Scuba Steve to the Marietas Islands, El Morro & El Chimo. Had a great time till today, Cheers!

Room Tip: If privacy is your choice..take the Marina View rooms above 5th floor...

The Hotel is nice, the long white sand beaches let you feel you are in paradise.Lots of ammenities at night.
Our room had a wonderful view, however was not comfortable. The bed was very hard and the air conditioner made so much noise that we had to open the balcony door, so that it stopped working.
The bathroom was small and the toilet bowl was dirty.
We asked to talk to the manager on duty without luck. We sent an email, we got no answer.
This was our fourth time at this hotel, and the first bad experience.
I gave a poor overall rating, as management did care to give a good (excellent would be better) Customer service

Room Tip: Ask for an upgrade.

We are members here, but at a level where we only have enough points to visit about once every three years. This time we accumulated enough points to stay in a two-bedroom suite for ten days, my wife, daughter, and myself. We chose a Marina View in the Coba Tower and this was the best decision we ever made. After staying there I would never again choose Ocean View in the two main buildings. We had a corner suite on the 5th floor with one long balcony that spanned the master bedroom and living room, and another HUGE balcony off the dining area, with chaises plus an outdoor table with chairs and even an outdoor sink and countertop. The suite itself is not at all luxurious compared to other timeshare units that we own, but we really LOVE this place for the atmosphere and the comfort and amenities that do not exist even at higher-end resorts. We had a full-size fridge, a stovetop, a full-size oven, a microwave, and dishwasher, and even a washer and dryer right in our own suite! The master bath tub is deep with straight sides and a slanted back, perfect for soaking. The view from our balconies had so much variety that we would just sit outside and stare at it, soaking up the beauty and peaceful spirit...mountains, a bit of ocean view, marina, river, and a few luxury homes.

We're not really excited about the pools at Paradise Village, because one of them is so loud with music and games and mobs of people filling every available chaise...but judging from how many people are there enjoying it, I guess I can't really count that as a negative thing, but just our taste. The "quiet" pool is very outdated and not really attractive to us either. But we really love sitting under one of the palapas on the beach; they have a variety of chaises and chairs you can use there and even straw mats you can use to make a kind of carpet under your palapa. The beach is wide and beautiful there, great for walking, and the water is swimmable with manageable waves that are fun but not frightening.

We rent a car when at this resort, and we really like it's proximity to the town of Bucerias and beaches to the north, and we spend a lot of time at those places rather than driving the murderously clogged traffic getting into downtown Puerto Vallarta.

The spa and gym here are great; I love to go to the men's "wet area" just to sit in whirlpool and steam room. We also love the coffee bar that serves Starbucks-quality lattes and cappuccinos.

I highly recommend this resort, unless you're someone who demands the highest luxury in the furnishings and wall decor in your suite!

Room Tip: Ask for a corner suite in the Coba Tower if you like quiet with a beautiful view. If you like to be...

Despite what some other reviews may state, this place is properly named! IT IS PARADISE, with lush gardens, a long white sand beach with enough palapas and chairs for everybody!!! The service/staff are wonderfully cheerful, friendly and go beyond to help! Our room was great, had 1 bedroom, a sleeper soga (not needed), 2 full bathrooms, and a modest kitchen with 2 burner cooktop, microwave, refrigerator, all pots/pans, dishes, etc., coffee maker, toaster and blender. tropically decorated, VERY clean, and serviced daily by staff. the balcony was large with chairs and a table.
There are 2 pool, one for adults only, both with waterslides (2 huge aligators in the regular pool and a lizard at the adult pool), grottos, plently of room, tons of loungers, music, activities, pool towels, cabana boys servin' up drinks! they even body boards to use (free) for the beach, shuffleboard courts, bocci ball court, bikes, spa, & a gym too, i am sure i am forgetting some things!!
we opted for the all inclusive deal.....a true deal for us! all the booze & food you could possilby want; sushi, italian, mexican, lunch fare, asian, steaks, seafood! food was really good! i was surprised! minimal buffets are offered at TULUM restaurant for all seatings along with huge specialty night dinner buffet productions! the restaurant MAYAPAN is good, but service is NOT as polished or attentive as TULUM, ask for roberto, he was awesome!!! all restaurants offer inside and outside dining.....we never sat inside, to sit outside, see the ocean and hear the waves crashing on the beach and the sounds of the wildlife around.....heavenly!!!
I really can't understand why there are some negative comment about this place. I know that there are SOME that are NEVER pleased enough, always negative and don't just sit back and enjoy a vacation for what it is.....a time to relax, NOT to find fault with every tiny little detail, just to be a crabapple!!! i am sure that i could find TONS of fault with your homes if i stayed there! IF YOU WANT EVERYTHING TO BE LIKE HOME, AT A HOTEL, THEN STAY HOME!!!

If i had to pick something that was a bit annoying, it was the persistant concierge staff, trying to sign you up to take time-share tours, to lasso you into buying, JUST BE FIRM, tell them that you're not intersted....they are very, very friendly and hard to resist their charm, but if that's not what you want, then don't do it....even if the deals they offer you sound too good to be true, remember, nothing is truly free!!!
i think i covered everything.......if not, i will add on some more stuff. I WOULD GO BACK HERE IN AN INSTANT, NO SECOND THOUGHTS ABOUT IT!!!!

Room Tip: they offer smoking and non-smoking...we chose a room away from the ocean side, it's much quieter...
