“Great Love for Un-Luxurious Resort”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 28, 2013

We are members here, but at a level where we only have enough points to visit about once every three years. This time we accumulated enough points to stay in a two-bedroom suite for ten days, my wife, daughter, and myself. We chose a Marina View in the Coba Tower and this was the best decision we ever made. After staying there I would never again choose Ocean View in the two main buildings. We had a corner suite on the 5th floor with one long balcony that spanned the master bedroom and living room, and another HUGE balcony off the dining area, with chaises plus an outdoor table with chairs and even an outdoor sink and countertop. The suite itself is not at all luxurious compared to other timeshare units that we own, but we really LOVE this place for the atmosphere and the comfort and amenities that do not exist even at higher-end resorts. We had a full-size fridge, a stovetop, a full-size oven, a microwave, and dishwasher, and even a washer and dryer right in our own suite! The master bath tub is deep with straight sides and a slanted back, perfect for soaking. The view from our balconies had so much variety that we would just sit outside and stare at it, soaking up the beauty and peaceful spirit...mountains, a bit of ocean view, marina, river, and a few luxury homes.

We're not really excited about the pools at Paradise Village, because one of them is so loud with music and games and mobs of people filling every available chaise...but judging from how many people are there enjoying it, I guess I can't really count that as a negative thing, but just our taste. The "quiet" pool is very outdated and not really attractive to us either. But we really love sitting under one of the palapas on the beach; they have a variety of chaises and chairs you can use there and even straw mats you can use to make a kind of carpet under your palapa. The beach is wide and beautiful there, great for walking, and the water is swimmable with manageable waves that are fun but not frightening.

We rent a car when at this resort, and we really like it's proximity to the town of Bucerias and beaches to the north, and we spend a lot of time at those places rather than driving the murderously clogged traffic getting into downtown Puerto Vallarta.

The spa and gym here are great; I love to go to the men's "wet area" just to sit in whirlpool and steam room. We also love the coffee bar that serves Starbucks-quality lattes and cappuccinos.

I highly recommend this resort, unless you're someone who demands the highest luxury in the furnishings and wall decor in your suite!

Room Tip: Ask for a corner suite in the Coba Tower if you like quiet with a beautiful view. If you like to be...

Despite what some other reviews may state, this place is properly named! IT IS PARADISE, with lush gardens, a long white sand beach with enough palapas and chairs for everybody!!! The service/staff are wonderfully cheerful, friendly and go beyond to help! Our room was great, had 1 bedroom, a sleeper soga (not needed), 2 full bathrooms, and a modest kitchen with 2 burner cooktop, microwave, refrigerator, all pots/pans, dishes, etc., coffee maker, toaster and blender. tropically decorated, VERY clean, and serviced daily by staff. the balcony was large with chairs and a table.
There are 2 pool, one for adults only, both with waterslides (2 huge aligators in the regular pool and a lizard at the adult pool), grottos, plently of room, tons of loungers, music, activities, pool towels, cabana boys servin' up drinks! they even body boards to use (free) for the beach, shuffleboard courts, bocci ball court, bikes, spa, & a gym too, i am sure i am forgetting some things!!
we opted for the all inclusive deal.....a true deal for us! all the booze & food you could possilby want; sushi, italian, mexican, lunch fare, asian, steaks, seafood! food was really good! i was surprised! minimal buffets are offered at TULUM restaurant for all seatings along with huge specialty night dinner buffet productions! the restaurant MAYAPAN is good, but service is NOT as polished or attentive as TULUM, ask for roberto, he was awesome!!! all restaurants offer inside and outside dining.....we never sat inside, to sit outside, see the ocean and hear the waves crashing on the beach and the sounds of the wildlife around.....heavenly!!!
I really can't understand why there are some negative comment about this place. I know that there are SOME that are NEVER pleased enough, always negative and don't just sit back and enjoy a vacation for what it is.....a time to relax, NOT to find fault with every tiny little detail, just to be a crabapple!!! i am sure that i could find TONS of fault with your homes if i stayed there! IF YOU WANT EVERYTHING TO BE LIKE HOME, AT A HOTEL, THEN STAY HOME!!!

If i had to pick something that was a bit annoying, it was the persistant concierge staff, trying to sign you up to take time-share tours, to lasso you into buying, JUST BE FIRM, tell them that you're not intersted....they are very, very friendly and hard to resist their charm, but if that's not what you want, then don't do it....even if the deals they offer you sound too good to be true, remember, nothing is truly free!!!
i think i covered everything.......if not, i will add on some more stuff. I WOULD GO BACK HERE IN AN INSTANT, NO SECOND THOUGHTS ABOUT IT!!!!

Room Tip: they offer smoking and non-smoking...we chose a room away from the ocean side, it's much quieter...

All three of my kids puked their guts out from Food poisoning that they got at the Paradise Village Resort. My 18 year old son had bruises on his stomach from puking so much. THEY ASSURED ME THAT IT WASN'T FROM THEIR RESORT! LOL WE DIDN'T EAT ANYWHERE ELSE! They also over charged my card & won't credit it back. They are lying dishonest people!!! Don't go here! Stay in America! There are many more beautiful places here with honest people! They also lied about our room, they said we had an ocean front but it was a room with only a street view!
DON'T GIVE THEM YOUR CREDIT CARD NUMBER!!!!!!

Room Tip: Don't choose one here! They will tell you it's an ocean view & then when you get there i...

This was our first Mexico vacation with the kids (ages 3 & 4), and this hotel lived up to its billing. The staff was helpful, the buildings and grounds were clean, there were plenty of activities to keep the kids entertained, and we felt safe throughout our stay. There were fruit trees everywhere (mangos, bananas, limes) and the air was thick with their sweet smell. Our two-bedroom unit had a full kitchen and washer/dryer. The rooms were big, and we took advantage of the terrace to dry our swim gear. There was a small mall with a grocery store and several restaurants immediately outside the main gate (5 min walk). We chose to cook half our meals in the room, and then use the restaurants in the hotel (4 of them) or the mall for the other half. One of the pools catered to families, with a shallow entry (including ramp) on one end, and two water slides on the other. A posted activities chart let us know when/what we could expect for that day. They brought out a sea lion, parrots and a 2 foot crocodile...the kids loved it. Ordering food/drinks poolside or on the beach was easy, quick, and convenient. The beach was all sand (no rocks) with a gentle slope into the water. Small waves were consistent for boogie boarding. Boogie boards and kayaks were free to use. We only took one paid excursion, a 1.5 hour canal tour adjacent to the complex. Captain Tony was enthusiastic and entertaining...for $20/adult (kids free) we were able to see iguanas, crocodiles, various birds, the dolphin/sea lion enclosure, and lots of waterfront homes. The tour wasn't extremely exciting for the adults, but a great break from our daily pool routine. The only other time we left complex was to take a cab into old PV. We walked the waterfront boardwalk, checked out the shops and sculptures, and then had dinner at Pipi's. We had a late flight out, so we paid for a late check-out ($25 for 3 hours) and the kids were able to nap before getting onto the plane. I'm hoping all of our vacations are this seamless.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Coba building, which faces the marina and gets morning sun. This meant we walked t...

This was our 11th consecutive year vacationing at Paradise Village. We like the long white beach with plenty of chairs and pallapas, great service for food and drinks on the beach, the spa is fantastic and reasonable compared to US Resorts, husband enjoys the golf course, the rooms have been updated and always spotless with maid service daily. its safe, many restaurants just a short taxi away and the staff is friendly and many of them have been there for years and always remember us. The resort draws a nice group of vacationers mostly from the US and Canada. We invited some friends to join us this year and they were very impressed and want to return again soon.

This is our 7th trip to PV since 1997 and we can always count on it to be consistently friendly, clean & safe. This beautiful property is the largest beach resort in Nuevo Vallarta but you never feel overwhelmed. Good restaurants on site with a good mix of local and international menu items. Although the service in the restaurants is not the best (waiters could generally be trained by mgmt better), they try hard to please and offer fair value. There are also a number of excellent restaurants surrounding the resort, a short taxi ride from the resort. Lots for the entire family to do & see and a small mall conveniently located outside the main gates where you find a grocery store and numerous gift shops & restaurants. Be prepared for a little noise depending on your neighbors as the floors are all tiled and echo every sound.

I just returned from this resort and it was our annual girlfriends trip. We had a BLAST! The resort is very well maintained with a nice beach. Plenty of pallapas and beach chairs and loungers. The weather was "stellar"!!! Beautiful temps everyday with a nice breeze. We stayed on the Marina side in the Coba tower. Nice 2 bedroom suite. There were some things that the room was missing (ice trays, paper towels, dish washing soap) this was a mild inconvenience but tolerable. We didn't cook at all just coffee in the mornings. We opted NOT to do the all-inclusive as there were not very many choices of restaurants. The Mayapan restaurant was closed for the season. The Tullum is where we ate breakfast...we did the buffet..not bad. We had lunch on the beach most days, service was a little slow but tolerable, and the food was good. There are many activites there as well. They have theme nights...definitley do the Mexican Fiesta night...so much fun!!! Great food and a good show. Speaking of shows, definitely go to see the Rythym of the Nights show. It a spectacular. It's kind of a Circe de Soleil production set in the jungle. It's a dinner show and food and drinks all are included and veru good. We visited several restaurants in the area as well, The Luganu, Claudio's and Vitea all very good. Dolce Vita restaurant is wonderful. Visit Bocerias (small cab ride) for silver shopping. Overall, I loved Puerto Vallarta and can't wait to visit again...I would stay at Paradise Village again...for sure!!!

Room Tip: Chose the Coba Tower...quiet, has own pool and jacuzzi. Nice marina view...we were in room 3431..gr...
