“Un-healthy mouldy hotel - shame on them”
Reviewed August 26, 2012

I wonder how healthy the mold, slippery floors, moisture on walls and water dripping from the ceiling is to guests? Of course they tell you" to keep the A/C on ( too cold) and close the doors." I didn't come to Mexico to be in an A/C room! Also how shocked we were to see the "sea lion" show in the public swimming pool. I wonder how healthy that water was after the show for the humans and wonder how healthy the chemicals in the water was for the poor sea lion? The hotel owner should be ashamed of this hotel ( 18-20 yrs old) and start immediately to upgrade all rooms, furniture etc. With all the newer hotels in the area and all the excitement of "timeshare presentations" - - this hotel should be acting very soon to update and to attract return guests. We will say the staff was very friendly and accommodating. We will look elsewhere to stay in the future - - perhaps buying into the Grand Mayan, Bliss or Luz.

Spent all day at the beach and a couple day excursions. The food was fantastic and the service was ok. I enjoyed the weather and the water. The push to sale you additional advantages and timeshare property became annoying and almost ruined a great time. However, beyond the push salesmen who are only doing their jobs ( just beware), I would defintely consider going back.

Spend the day here with my husband and 3 year old as part of a cruiseship day excursion. We had an all inclusive buffet for lunch and the food was tasty with ok service. We had lots of fun in the pool since there was a nice shallow area for my daughter to swim in. The beach was especially enjoyable since the water was the perfect temperature and the waves were calm enough to make it a very fun swim for my daughter. I liked the lawn chairs and umbrellas they had for guests to use as well. I actually forgot to bring my daughter's sand toys and the doorman offered to drive me to the mall nearby and wait since I only had a few hours to spend at the resort - which was a very nice gesture.

We go as a family and group (of 35+) every two years. We enjoy life at the resort - gym, pool aerobics, free boogie boarding on the beach, lunch on the beach under a free palapa, beach soccer or volleyball, bocce, pool games, themed dinner nights, Karaoke and dance club, and lobby bar - and that was just Tuesday! you don't have to leave the resort every day or any day. The service is excellent and the staff does a great job to keep the resort looking its best every day. I have gone running before the sun is up and have found the staff readying the beach by removing debris and raking the sand for the soon to arrive patrons. If your ideal vacation is resting on the beach under a palapa with a beachside waiter and 2 for 1 happy hour - come here! If you would like to spend half your time at the beach and the other half in the city - come here! From the resort we take a 20 min taxi ride to the main town boardwalk in Puerto Vallarta. The resort is located in the state of Nayarit. Puerto Vallarta and the airport are in Jalisco. The reason is that the coastline in Jalisco was fully developed so the builders continued along the coast right into the next state. The two states are on a different time zone (Pacific and Mountain) but for the sake of argument, the resort town just adheres to it's neighbor's time zone. In this way nuevo vallarta can seem the same as Puerto vallarta. It is like landing in New Jersey and staying in Hoboken but telling people you stayed in New York.
The resort has an excellent Spa, hydrotherapy rooms, gym, fitness classes, healthy bar, regular bars, three restaurants on site, a mall, a marina, church services onsite, internet, computers for use, kids club, tennis courts, 4 pools, 3 water slides, and games all day long. We have a great time there and running around in town.

Room Tip: ask for partial ocean view. it isn't as much as ocean view, but it is nice. I don't recomm...

This is a typical resort as far as providing everything you need. The spa is lovely. The staff are friendly and helpful and keep the entire place immaculate. We love the rec center with the kids area, tennis courts, ping pong, and bocce. The rec center is a great place to hang out away from the beach - you can eat lunch and exercise too as it has a full-service restaurant and gym. I like the gym at the rec center better than the gym near the hotel rooms. You do not need to bring beach toys for kids as you can check them out for free from the activity center. The kitchens are well furnished. The only downside to the resort is the beds are a bit hard.

I visited Paradise Village last August, and it was one of the best vacations I ever had. The place looks exactly like the photos that appears on the property's website. The staff is friendly and helpful at all times. I love the poolside service that is offered and found the food on premise was quite nice. Yes you can find some better tasting food if you travel into the heart of the area, but if you simply want to relax twenty-four-seven you can't go wrong with the food on premises. Theme nights with corresponding meals are done several times a week, and a lovely greeting with Mayan dancers is provided. There is also a shopping center no more than five minutes away from the main tower when walking, where you can find a supermarket, and quite a few restaurants. A free shuttle is loffered if you do not wish to walk.

The only potential drawback is that the free wifi is not throughout the resort, it is confined to the common areas, but they are nice to sit in so you don't feel put out. This issue however is a minor one. So minor in fact that I plan to return to Paradise Village on my next trip to Mexico.

We spent a great week at Paradise Village. As the daughter of a member, we got a 1 bedroom superior suite on the 7th floor of Tikal tower--ocean view. It was so gorgeous! The suite itself is lovely, and very spacious. The small kitchenette is great for the week--we stored drinks, and bought stuff for breakfast. The appliances and pots/pans are all good quality stainless steel. It was nice to have a blender for margaritas, as well as a toaster for our morning breakfasts. We ate breakfast on the balcony--such a wonderful way to start the morning!

The grounds are absolutely gorgeous, and there is so much to do! The watersides are a lot of fun, and definitely not just for kids! There is a beach bar that serves both traditional American and Mexican snack foods. The palapas are wonderful and relaxing to sit at!

We only ate on the resort once--at Mayapan Restaurant. It was pretty good, but it was definitely the worst thing we ate all week. I definitely recommend getting off the resort and eating at one of the local/authentic restaurants in Puerto Vallarta or Bucerias--delicious! Or even the more tourist-y restaurants in Malecon--I recommend the Cheeky Monkey!

The service is impeccable--everyone is very friendly and professional. We didn't have a lot of problems with timeshare people, but that is likely attributable to my status as a member's daughter. We did go to a timeshare presentation, and it is much longer than the 90 minutes advertised. All in all, it wasn't terrible, and it included a free meal and a discount on activities.

If I could make suggestions for improvements, I would want wi-fi in the suite, or a longer ethernet cable to allow internet access--the only port is in the kitchen, which is inconvenient. Other than that minor adjustment, I can't think of much else I would change.

It was a wonderful week, and we will be back our families!
