“PARADISE VILLAGE IS APTLY NAMED”
Reviewed April 30, 2011

This was our third visit and we bought the time share because of the beauty of the resort and the friendliness of staff. We travel with a wheelchair for a disabled family member and Paradise Village is fully accessible! Staff are extremely courteous and helpful and remember us by name every year. The entertainment staff (Robin Hood, Kikis, Chi Chi) are full of charm and energy and really try to help folks relax and have a good time by encouraging all to participate. Poolside waiters are great too (Chui, Jorge)! The beach is clean, huge and never feels crowded. The food in all resataraunts are fresh large servings made by great chefs and we always ended up taking food back to the room. The breakfast buffet is amazing, amazing variety to choose from. The rooms are comfortable and clean and the daily maid service is impeccable. The compound is secure and self contained and you never have to leave if you choose not to; shopping mall with grocery store on premises with reasonable prices. I can't say enough, as you can see we love it there and that's why we bought the timeshare from Carlos. We look forward to returning this year and every year and even the corny but script we are greeted with "Welcome Home". And I still haven't even played the world class Golf Course yet!

We stayed at this hotel from 4/17/11-4/24/11. Warning: The pool in this hotel is not safe for children. The pool doesn't have lifeguards and some of the edges are too high for children to grab. The shallow area was divided by rocks which my son scraped himself against. The pool water was not clear and clean. The room where we stayed in was cheaply furnished. The pillows were flat and small (no extra pillows).
We went as timeshare guests, which should have included all room costs. But, we were forced to upgrade costing over 900 USD and they didn't allow us to use points for the difference. The hotel staff didn't help resolve the issue.

Room Tip: Go to a different hotel!

Thank-you for the review of Paradise Village - the hotel management takes each complaint and suggestion seriously and we are looking into each claim made in your review.
To be clear, each Paradise Village pool has 24 hour security staff around it, ensuring the safety of our members and guests. Also, it should be noted that each of the pools are cleaned nightly and are crystal clear, and meet the chlorine levels recommended by the Mexican Department of Health.
Guest safety at Paradise Village is paramount, and the procedures in place are designed to maintain a high level of security while balancing the guest's comfort level. To achieve this, each portion of the hotel is designed with safety and security in place. From our front gate security check-point to the roaming security guards on the look-out for something out of place, the resort is under a continual blanket of security. While on the grounds of Paradise Village, each member and guest is privy to the same security regardless of their timeshare member status.
With regard to the claim of the $900 fee, the accommodation you initially booked was a studio with a maximum occupancy of 4 persons. You did not advise us you were traveling with 5 persons. A studio unit is not suitable for the number of unannounced guests in your party and a larger suite was necessary, and thus the basis of the $900 charge. Section 2.4 of the Club rules and regulations specifically state the procedure for upgrade due to over-occupancy.
We're sorry your Paradise Village experience was not what you expected , and we hope you´ll see improvements on your next visit as a result of this review.

This was our second visit to Paradise and we loved it even more! This resort has everything you need right there from water sports, excursions, restaurants, shopping and a beautiful beach location. The gourmet food and theme nights were wonderful. We had impeccable service from Carlos (happy birthday!) who went over and above to make our vacation perfect. We even saw the 'green flash'! We'll be back!

I have reviewed Paradise Village before; I've been a member there for 9 years and we go back every year for Spring Break. We have two teens and a toddler and there is something for everyone. We love it !
I've just read another review...a family from Calgary staying at another resort in town, who ended up buying time share at Paradise. IF you are even thinking about buying "points" at Paradise, go to the breakfast as early into your trip as possible. They are very generous with their upgrades, so if you buy on day 1 or 2 of your trip, you can easily land in a much bigger suite on the ocean side for the rest of your holiday. It is well worth it. Our friends bought 3 years ago, they were in a two bedroom in Coba and ended up in the gorgeous 3 bedroom with a hot tub on the deck that they use to "lure" you in the timeshare tour.
Now back to our trip this year ...we did a few days of all inclusive and found it well worth it.
It was the first time we've done all-in ...and since it includes the special nightly dinner we felt it was worth it, especially if you like to have food and drinks around the pool all day long! (They have a special on kids under 12 are free) I have to say though this year was the busiest I have seen in a long time. Every day it was tough to find chairs around the main pool and the whole stretch of palapas along the beach, from the breakwater to the other end of the resort, was busy. Still it's one of our Vallarta favorites.
Sidetrips .. this year we did Las Caletas; a great trip especially if you're a scuba diver ..it's only $10 or $15 more to go scuba diving!! We also did the Crocodile tour from the Marina at Paradise Village. Marco was our incredibly informative guide and I will never look at the water at the marina the same way!! Do not go swimming there!

Room Tip: Coba is far from the noise!

From the moment we arrived we were greeted with the utmost professionalism. The staff was very welcoming and friendly! We traveled with another couple and our ocean view, two bedroom, two bath suite was just perfect for the four of us. We had a corner room on the 4th floor, nice balcony, however, our view of the ocean was slightly obstructed by the Palm Trees. I recommend requesting upper floors, 6, 7 or 8. But we still enjoyed sitting out on our balcony having breakfast together every morning. The birds would greet us and the sound of the waves was awesome! We enjoyed a couple of lunches and dinners on the premises. Lunch was fine, but dinner was just ok. Try getting some restaurant recommendations from the Concierge. I DO SUGGEST TAKING THEIR "DRINK PLAN" (10 DOMESTIC DRINKS ONLY $30 PER PERSON) That was a nice discount ...worth it! Our "favorite" was "MONKEY AROUND" ! ! ! TRY IT. .YOU'LL LIKE IT!

Room Tip: Floors 6, 7 or 8 better views above Palm Trees

We just came back from a fantastic week at Puerto Vallarta we stayed at room 4808 and 4812 a beautiful Penthouse. I have to say I was a bit sceptical from what we have been hearing about Mexico here in the US, I have to say EVERYONE in Puerto Vallarta that we met was nothing but kind, accomodating, generous and curtious. The staff at... the resort, from your New Guest Sales (Yolanda, Oscar and Annie) to your entertainment staff I might be mising some names (Julio, Simon, Sandra) to your "Loud Pool" Bar Staff (Aaron, Nestor, Hector, Jose Luis, Polo, Sr. Casas, 'Abuelito", "Grizzlie Bear, Jorge, etc) as well as your staff in the Marina (Alvaro, Chui and the other team at the Sea Lion) who took us snorkling at AnimasNot the mention your staff at your inmaculate El Tigre Golf Course, we gave it a try to tame it twice, we did ok. We took a trip to the Malecon at Old Vallarta, our expectation where not that high, it was 7 of us 5 adults (including Grandma and Grandpa) and our two kids, again we where surprised the town and their people where incredible, not a lot of preassure to buy souveniers. A beatiful "Malecon", great stores etc, we happened to stop at a store owend by Paradise Village and one of the store managers took us to a restaurant around the block "Blue Agavethe restaurant wasnt even opened, we had a fantastic lunch, we celebrated my Dad's birthday and they even found a "Trio" (Singers) who sang Happy B-dayfor my Dad ( he turned 80). Well overall we are extremely happy with the resort and we will be coming back. Paradise Village Management continue your good work, one recommendation, you can have more authentic mexican food at your restaurants, we came to town looking for that and we hoped we had more of that immersion in your cusine. Besides that Paradise Village rocks and thank you for your hospitality!

By the way we should have gone to Walmart and bought some of the everyday essentials, Paper Towels, good Shampoo etc, but besides that and a hard bed, everything was fantastic!!

Thank-you for the recommendation on TripAdvisor for Paradise Village - we really love to hear stories such as yours. When staff and management at Paradise Village read the praise you left, we know we did our best to accommodate you and your family.

The Paradise Village experience envisioned by the management and directors is that of exceeding the expectations of our guests, from check-in to check-out. During their vacation we expect our visitors to explore Puerto Vallarta, and compare our services and features to those offered in the city. One of the features frequently subject to review is our menus, each of which are designed to give a variety to each of the Paradise Village visitors. While it's true the Mexican cuisine portion of the menus may lack the options many authentic Mexican restaurants in Puerto Vallarta offer, our Chefs consistently prepare a variety of dishes for diners enjoying one of the many restaurants on-site.

The staff and management of Paradise Village wish to thank-you again for becoming members during your visit to the resort - we look forward to your next visit when we can show you more of the world-famous Paradise Village hospitality.

pros: fabulous location, close to airport. Great beach (not white sand and turquoise water) but warm and extremely clean, good surf with no dangerous undertow for kids. Kids loved the pool and the Bengal Tigers on the premises. Ask for the wine list by the glass if you are on all-inclusive otherwise you get the house plonk. Waiters were very attentive and accommodating for children particularly. We purchased an all-inclusive package for vacation and are not members of the time-share. The coconut breaded shrimp at Myanpar restaurant are to die for. The omelette chef each morning prepared the most tasty omelettes with ingredients of your choosing. Friendly staff and very safe. Children could play in pool without always being under the watchful eye of parents. Lots of Canadians go here. Have already recommended it to friends with kids.

cons: Beds/mattresses are extremely hard so you can ask for a mattress foam but still not comfy. the seafood restaurant Il Pescatore is NOT part of the all-inclusive package unfortunately. Also, often salty vegetables at buffets and a la cartes, too much emphasis on tipping when you've purchased an all-inclusive package, hounding by polite but persistent vendors on the beach, skip the invite to the welcome orientation as it's all about time share and coupons for services (unless you want spa etc.)

Thank-you for reviewing Paradise Village with your detailed post about our resort from a family's perspective. We strive to make the resort as kid-friendly as possible, giving the parents free-time to relax and enjoy their vacation. Keeping the kids happy and entertained is a relaxing moment for the parents.
The management of Paradise Village have been careful in planning the all-inclusive package to make sure it's the best possible value for the traveler and resort. While we cannot include each featured menu or restaurant's offerings, the inclusion of premium liquor brands (Grey Goose, Johnny Walker, etc.) is one of the ways the resort is trying to ensure a balanced all-inclusive package.
Thank-you once again for your review, and we look forward to you and your family's next visit to Paradise Village.
