Nice and wide beach. Still lots of fauna. We had the opportunity of swimming with manta rays. Sea turtles nest on the beach. Many seabirds.

Water was murky and smelled like dead fish. Did not seemed clean at all. Sand was brown. The Caribbean side of Mexico is much prettier.

Nice sand and sea with great waves. Lots of vendors they come around offering anything from silver, handbags, dresses, swimwear, chips & coconuts. A polite 'no thank you' is all you need to say, and they will be on their way. There is also banana boat rides, paragliding thats offered for $50 good price, lasts about 20-30 mins.

we could not use the beach from 7/1/2013 to 7/8/2013 due to sting rays. Also 1 man died from the undertow.

We were here in Summer so that probably accounts for the heat. Depending on which way the currents are flowing the water off the beach can be very brown and muddy. Some days it's ok. The sand on the beach is very compacted and dark due to the mud and can get VERY hot in the Summer sun.
