Fajita Republic is not cheap, but it is certainly less expensive than the resort restaurants in NV and the servings are HUGE - great value for your dollar.

The fajitas are served "build your own" with the meat sizzling away on a skillet and the wraps and variety of condiments on the side. It is delicious. I have eaten here a few times and have yet to be disappointed.

The location is really nice, too. It backs onto the marina in NV, so you can even boat to it and the view is lovely!

in the expensive nuevo vallarta area, f.r. is a good bet with great ambiance and great food. love the outdoor setting with all the lights at night. though the tables closest to the water look the most romantic, they are also the ones closest to the mosquitos. so get a table closer inside. they do a dramatic tableside flame tecnique with the fajitas. highly recommend.

We stay in Nuevo every year, at Paradise Village. This restaurant is our favorite there. Much like the Fajita Republic in Old Town. Great Ribs, but you can't go wrong with whatever you choose. Nice atmosphere. Friendly staff. A little out of the way if you don't know where it is located, but its worth finding.

Fajita Republic is an open air restaurant in Nuevo Vallarta just down and across from the Grand Velas Resort. It is lit with beehive lights, common in Mexico and has a very extensive menu. I mean a ton of choices. The menu is on a papertype long list...They have daily specials and a variety of food from chicken, to fish, lobster, ribs, Mexican, salads and combo dishes as well. Prices ranged from $10 US to $25 US an entree, which usually comes with one side dish...

The drinks are reasonably priced at 48 pesos for a margarita, a big one in a large beer mug.

The quantity of food is plentiful, large portions and delicious. Their specialty is flaming fajitas presented tableside. The service was excellent and quick, which is to many people's liking. We told waiter ahead of time, we plan to be here awhile, so tranquilo! He was just fine with that.

We decided on going for the gusto...frozen margaritas and the special combo plate of lobster, ribs and coconut shrimp which also included a salad or fries, for 250 pesos per combo. We each got the same, so we shared the salad and fries each ordering the different item.

The lobster tail, warm water lobster was tender, cooked perfectly, not dry and served with drawn butter. The coconut shrimp, medium in size but loaded with coconut and served with a special dipping sauce were very tasty and the sauce was delicious the only unfortunate part was you only got two and they were so good, you wanted more of them..LOL., The ribs, at least a half rack, were tender, falling off the bone and covered with barbeque sauce and also came with extra barbeque sauce for dipping. The salad was a good size, plenty for two to share and the fries abundant, again plenty to share. We could not eat it all and left with doggie bags which served as another meal while we stayed at Mayan Palace.

The Margaritas were deeelicious and at 48 pesos for a big one...next time I would spring the few extra pesos for a better tequila though, as the house tequila was Jose Cuervo, so not my favorite.

The ambiance here is whatever goes...you can dress up, you can wear shorts, family, kids, whatever goes.

The prices of the other dishes such as fajitas were much less, so you could go from very reasonable to the gusto as we did.

The service was great, efficient, courteous and attentive. It was whatever you wanted quick or laid back Mexican style....

The place was pretty crowded the night we went and we saw a lot of flaming fajitas pass by us and they sure smelled good.

I highly recommend this restaurant for a good meal, good drinks, good service and a reasonable "not break the bank " check.

I believe the hours are 2pm to 10 pm or so.
