“Nice family dinner”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 19, 2013

We ate here last night. Great atmosphere for sure. We were a bit confused at first because it is actually 2 restaurants that look like one. We chose to eat fajitas and were not disappointed. The servers were friendly and the food came quickly.

“Not as good as I was expecting”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 16, 2013

I thought a restaurant with the name "fajita" in it would have delectable fajitas. It certainly wasn't bad by any means, but the taste of the food was not as wonderful as the atmosphere - and the wonderful choices on the menu sounded tantalizing. The salsa was just mushed tomatoes. The chips were good and crisp but there was no kick to that salsa. The tortilla soup was good. The Caesar salad was small and was just ok. My sister liked the crunchy salad better. My husband thought the BBQ ribs were excellent (I thought they were just good, not great!). We ordered the cadillac fajitas ("for 2") but it was plenty for 3 of us. It came with lobster, shrimp, and steak. All tasted fine, but needed some seasoning to make it stand out. Just not much taste. My son liked his chicken fajitas. The fajitas came with bowls of toppings, none of which were so delicious you had to have more. This is a crowded, friendly, casual, party atmosphere kind of place. Service did not come with a smile. They were quite impatient with us. Then two people didn't like their drinks, and the servers grumbled about it. They were also out of fried ice cream which sounded great. But maybe that was ok. It probably sounded better than it would have tasted. Don't know if I would give it a second try. So many people seem to love this place, but I liked the atmosphere and menu more than the food and the service. The other thing I liked was that it was only about $20/person.

“A Tradition”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 8, 2013

It is a tradition for us to go here every time we are in the area. Fresh and delicious. You must try the fajitas before you leave, they are to die for! And great margaritas too!!

“Don't let the crowds fool you”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 8, 2013

Even though people line up to eat here, don't be fooled. The food is not really very good. It could be that there are very few restaurant choices in Nuevo Vallarta. We do get drawn in every year thinking it will be better. It isn't. We just tried it again last week. My husbands fish was soft and gummy. My shrimp were dry and tasteless. The chairs are very, very uncomfortable too.

“Great value, great food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2013 via mobile

This is our fifth year in a row going to Fajita Republic and as far as we're concerned, it's a must in Nuevo. The food is always reliably tasty and fresh, the prices are great and the family atmosphere is perfect for kids. Best fajitas around! In our two weeks in Mexico we go a minimum 3 times because of how good it is. If you can't get a spot go next door to their sister restaurant El Dinamita, equally delicious and same owners.
