“Shrimp Stuffed with Cheese Wrapped in Bacon!!!!!!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 20, 2013

We’ve been coming to Nuevo Vallarta for years and have always been in search of best shrimp places. We have stayed at Paradise Village the last 2 years because of its location but never realized the places we were looking for were right behind us across the Marina. One of the reviews I looked at was for Mariscos Tino’s La Laguna. We had GPS this year and it led us straight to it. We had driven by there hundreds of times but now we know. We were given a table overlooking the water and reviewed the menu. Most of knew why we came, to find the best Shrimp Especial!!!! Grilled shrimp stuffed with cheese and wrapped in bacon. Tino’s certainly made it special. Meal was awesome, hosts timeshare pitch was nearly painless, considered it, said no and he did not pressure us after that. While waiting to be served we bought some turtle food and fed the turtles and alligators. Here’s is how we rate the Shrimp Especial Tied for #1 Tino’s Mariscos and Miquel Angels. Tino’s gave more but slightly smaller shrimp at a much better price, Miquel’s had a special sauce that made it yummy and had better service because of the size of the restaurant. We’ll definitely be back to Tino's.

“Family Friendly with Quality Food”

You children will enjoy watching the fish and turtles in the lagoon while you enjoy an excellent margarita and terrific seafood. The prices are reasonable and the service is good.

“Nice restaurant walkable from Mayan”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 12, 2013

We enjoyed two nice dinner meals at Tino's - it doesn't look that great from the road but the wait staff was very accommodating (it wasn't crowded & they directed the fans our way). And the owner or manager can offer you connections to fishing & other activities.

So - we stayed at the Grand Luxxe - took the shuttle and walked to the taxi stand where we caught another shuttle to take us to the front entrance of the resort (the only way this make the restaurant walkable - and safer too).

The fish tacos, I wouldn't recommend (expected filet of fish, rather, it was shredded, a bit fishy). Did enjoy the Filet of Fish Popeye (large portion), Seafood stuffed fish filet, chicken fajitas (finicky eater), Broiled Fish filet (have it your way) and coconut shrimp (may be too sweet for some palates). Have had the local specialty, Pescado Zarandeado in the past - enough to share but different, and tasty. Each meal comes with tostado chips and three flavors of hot sauce. When the waiter saw I was eating the spiciest he brought over lime marinated onions & habaneros (it was really good).

We started visiting Tino's years ago on the recommendation of a taxi driver - the original was way inside Puerto Vallarta and serviced mostly locals (this location has since moved more into the downtown area). Tino's Laguna will be one of our go-to places on return visits to NV.

“Best of Nuevo Vallarta”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 5, 2013

we went to Tino's and had an excellent meal. My wife had coconut shrimp. The dish had eight large shrimp which were excellent. I had shrimp in a diablo sauce. The diablo sauce was spicy as advertised. Our friend had chicken fajitas. Also, very good.

I thought this was the best of the restaurants in the area.

Recommend any fish dish.

“Tremendous Find”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 5, 2013

We have been to Nuevo for years and driven by Tino's numerous times not knowing what we were missing!!! At the advice of locals, we tried it, and it's our new favorite seafood place in Nuevo. It has all the traditional seafood dishes from Mexico finished in the highest quality! The serve the best bay lobster we've had in PV, so kudos to Tino's. Tip... portions are huge, so we will definitely share next time. We loved it so much, we ate there twice on our last vacay. Enjoy!
