If you want to relax, take long walks on the beach, enjoy great drinks, food and service......this is the place to go! The staff are amazing and really go above and beyond to make your vacation wonderful. I have spent 4 wonderful vacations at this resort and was also married there this year. Our guests were in awe of this place and were pleasantly surprised at the level of service from all the staff. Some of them have already booked a return vacation for 2013! ( we will return for vacation # 5 in April )
The resort is kept immaculate and pools are beautiful. I notice people complain in reviews about kids in the adult pool. I have been there many times and I have NEVER seen an adult only pool nor have I seen one advertised. I think this is a misunderstanding with some guests as there is an adults only jacuzzi next to the main pool, near the lobby. I have never been bothered by children there and it is nice to see them having a good time.
If possible, book a romantic dinner on the beach. What an experience! And sooooo good! Loved all the restaurants so I will not recommend one over the other. The sunsets are beautiful and we enjoyed watching the sunrise from our balcony while having coffee and yummy breakfasts from room service. If you have any questions or concerns, just ask any of they staff and they will do what they can to make sure your needs are met. Room are large, beautiful and kept immaculate. Jaccuzi on the balcony in a nice touch.
. Beach is always cleaned and is beautiful. Although this place is just about perfect, it is the friendly staff that takes it a step above. They have become like family and we cannot wait to see them again . Please tip them as they work hard for us and they truly mean it when they tell you..."it's a pleasure".

Just returned from 8 days at the dreams Dec1-9/12. Had a fantastic time....room was great, food super and beach and ocean fantastic. This was our first visit to a Dreams and will go back again without a doubt. All the restaurants were great and service first rate. Would like to give special mention to Patrico the beach waiter, he was first rate and had a great personality and he and the other waiters went out of their way to serve us. The hotel was not very busy when we were there so there were no issues with getting into the restaurants but I could see there could be a bit of a wait when it is busy. The entire area around the hotel is very clean and well maintained. We did have a few issues with our room maid not being "5star" but not enough to effect our stay and out look of facility.

We returned home last night from a a week at Dreams Villagmagna. A beautiful resort, exceptional service from everyone working there, always cheerful, efficient, helpful staff from the ladies that sweep the grounds to the top people in the hotel. Everyone has a smile, cheerful word and will do everything to help in any way. resort is spotlessly clean everywhere. Quiet place at night after the show, pool closes at 8.30pm which is good as most rooms overlook the pool and it can be noisy at times. Food is fantastic in every restaurant, service is top notch everywhere. Tips are expected but no one is pushy and service remains as high even if no tip is given. Beach is beautiful and water is warm and safe. Beach vendors are in abundance but they just smile and walk on when you say no, but talk to them and you learn a lot. They are great folks just trying to make a living and goods are cheap and decent quality. They are good to laugh and talk to if you take the time. There is a number of things to do if you are prepared to pay, parachute behind a boat, jet skies, etc.
Terrific resort for any one, couples, families, kids, older and younger. Don’t hesitate to go here. One small drawback may be the bathroom or lack of it, toilet and shower and sink are separated from bed by a curtain and the shower and toilet doors are frosted glass. Not the most private of settings.. Jacuzzi on deck is small but clean and works well, I would give this place a rating of Excellent in every category.

Room Tip: rooms over the pool can be noisy

Just got back from Dreams V.M. After 15 + trips to Mexico all-inclusive resorts I must say this resort is top-notch. Outstanding service all around, excellent food, great rooms and grounds. The drinks are strong as you want them and the specialty restaurants do not require reservations. The resort is a little on the quiet side, which is fine for some R&R, just not a big party place. No swim up bar, but not a problem unless you just have to have one. The service around the pool is spot-on, so you don't have to leave your chair. We normally stay at 5 apple resorts because we like the party atmosphere, but for my wife's 40th b-day we chose this resort to relax and be pampered a bit. We were not dissapointed and would not hesitate to return.

Room Tip: Ocean view is great and inexpensive up grade.

4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 15, 2012

We were here for the first two weeks of December 2012.

Overall: This is a very great hotel on an amazing long stretch of beach. Its mostly older couples with a few young couples with very young children (1-7age range). The some 200 hotel rooms are a small part of a much larger condo/ time share complex. The best thing about this hotel were the speciality restaurants - NO SIGN UPS! walk in at any time.. Most all inclusive restaurants want you at the buffet, and limit seating's etc.. We thought the food was great in all. The staff were also very friendly, and even friendlier if you tipped. We thought it was a great hotel, and excellent value for money and definitely would recommend it.

More details
Location: Great stretch of beach in Neuvo Vallarta. A 30 min cab ride into town($20), or just over hour bus ride with 1 transfer ($2). You can walk to the marina in Neuvo (about 30 mins) and it has a small mall and shops. You literally could walk for hours in the other direction. You are among other hotels, condos and homes.

Hotel: Its a modern hotel with a lobby that seems more of an after-thought. Two of the towers face the ocean and one faces the mountains. The rooms are very large with good size balconies. We had a comfortable king size bed, large sitting area ( that we never really used) and the bathroom. Much has already been written about the lack of a contained bathroom area - with a curtain separating the sink and tub from the bedroom.

The Pool system is amazing, one of the biggest we've been too. The upper pool is heated and while its " the adult pool". its the one where everyone is, including children. There are plently of loungers and we never had a hard time getting one. Beach is nice and sandy, no weeds or rocks and a gentle slope in. The water this time of year was very warm.

Food: 1 buffet and 4 a la carte restaurants. The Italian restaurant doesn't allow children and requires long pants for men. We ate at all , and found them all good with some menu items better than others. Again the stand out was the freedom of showing up and being seated - no reservations required. The drinks were good, and you could always ask for stronger if you preferred. The hotel also doesn't require wristbands.

Condo complex. This 200 room hotel is part of a much larger condo complex. While we were there, the timeshare and condo residents part was quite empty, but I can see during peak weeks how this could overload capacity very quickly. The hotel staff are very focused on selling timeshares, but we found with a strong clear " not interested". they back off. So much is written about hard sell by timeshare guys when you enter the PV airport and to walk right passed them but here in the hotel, it was shocking to see how many people wasted their morning listening to the "sell"

This was our 3rd trip to PV and first time staying in Neuvo. For a relaxing, quiet vacation - you would be hard pressed to find better!!

We spent a week at the Dreams Villamagna 1-8 Dec 2012. It was fantastic, and soooo relaxing....

Starting with our transfer from the airport to the hotel, where we were taken in a Suburban with one other couple, instead of a bus! (Nice, after running the gauntlet at PVR, which is an adventure unto itself! It would be wonderful if the tour companies could do something about the people at the airport that are posing as their employees....Oh well, it was head down and straight to the doors and outside.)

Check In was easy, and no bracelets! We encountered some minor issues in our room, including an inoperational fridge and deadbolt, and a sporadic TV remote (likely a battery issue). We called down the first night regarding the fridge and were assured it would be fixed. When we returned to our room after a day at the beach, it still didn't work. We advised the front desk and were again assured it would be fixed, and again it was not. We are not world travellers, but in our limited experience we know this is how the all-inclusives generally work, and it was ice in the sink for the cervezas that night! (Fortunately there was an ice machine down the hall.) When we came downstairs the next day, we again informed the front desk of this issue, as well as the other two. The gentleman, whose name we unfortunately did not get, assured us it would be done that day, and seemed concerned when we told him this was the third time we had asked. We returned to our room 5 minutes later and Maintenance was already there and fixed the deadbolt (after we explained it was the lock, not the light). We also received a phone call advising that the fridge would be changed out at 12, once checkouts were done, which it was! Somewhere along the line the remote starting working too, so we are presuming the batteries were changed. I must say I was impressed - 3 issues, 3 solutions.

The room itself was beautiful. We did not do Preferred Club and were on the second floor, jungle view (with a little sliver of ocean). The king size bed was comfy, with lots of pillows. The bathroom area was amazing, with dual sinks and a walk-in shower with a rain shower head AND a handheld. The toilet was in a separate glassed in area next to it. There was a large free-standing tub, with another handheld shower head. The tub took a long time to fill, but was very relaxing. Bathroom amenities (shampoo, shower gel and body lotion) were large bottles and were replenished during our stay, and there were also an incense burner, sticks and matches provided. The TV was a flat screen, with some pretty decent channels. The jacuzzi on the balcony was a nice touch, but we only used it once. There were also a coffee maker and a free electronic safe in the room, and the fridge was restocked generously each day.

The pools were nice, a little cool, but I had read on TripAdvisor that the one closest to the lobby was warmest and it was. Unfortunately, if you don't use the ladders to get into the pools, the first step is an uncomfortably large one. There is a nice adults-only jacuzzi next to the warmer pool. We used it the first night and the water was tepid at best, but we figured that is how jacuzzis generally are in warmer climates, and at least this one was heated a bit. Imagine our surprise when we used it a couple of days later and it was Hot! Not warm, but "I am a frozen Canadian" Hot! We used it late every afternoon on our way back from the beach. There were plenty of loungers around the pool. They could have used a few more palapas; however, if you were patient you would eventually get one. Aquacize in the pool was fun, as was painting ceramics pool-side (a lovely souvenir).

The towel exchange was handy and quick, and they always had fresh towels. They also had a book exchange for those who don't bring along enough reading material.

The beach is nice, clean and with plenty of loungers. Same situation with the palapas as at the pool. The waves were fairly large and more dangerous than they looked, but you could splash around in the water and walk for miles (kms?) down the beach. I believe you could get boogie boards and kayaks from the hotel, but we did not take advantage of that. There are lots of vendors, most are not overly agressive - since the beach is federal property the hotel has no control over them. There was always a security presence. Drink service was very good, with the exception of one afternoon.

The food was great, and once we figured out how to tell which Ala Carte was closed each night, it was so easy to plan our dinners. No reservations, no limits! We particularly enjoyed the Portofino, Oceana and Seaside! Also, the rooftop Sushi Bar was awesome! We only ate at the buffet for lunch, and a couple breakfasts. The coffee bar is excellent in the morning with a large selection of hot beverages, as well as fresh fruit, yogurt and pastries. We also used the free room service for a couple of breakfast on our balcony - it was good and quick.

We are not big night show people, but did enjoy the Fire Show on the rooftop stage and watching the kids ride the mechanical bull on Mexican Night. There are at least 4 bars, so no lineups. There is no disco, therefore not alot of nightlife, but that suited us fine - early to bed meant early to the pool/beach in the morning.

The Gym and Spa are nice, but the Spa prices are very high - even with the "Resort Coupon" promotion, since there were only certain coupons for the Spa, and you could only use one at a time. (That was the only coupon we used, as the others were for wine at dinner or a "romantic dinner".)

Standard rooms do not include wi-fi, but it can be purchased for approx $21/day. There is also the option of purchasing an internet card ($8/30 mins) for use at the computer next to the gift shop.

We only left the resort twice - Bucerias ($9 cab ride) and the Malecon ($19 cab ride). Both were interesting, particularly if you want to mix with the locals or if you are looking for souvenirs, tequila or cigars. The resort also allowed some vendors in on Tue and Fri nights, so that was another shopping option.

The staff were friendly and efficient. We always tip, but the service was great and tips didn't seem to affect this.

Check out was easy, we only had one charge, and the was the Spa as requested. The transfer to the airport was a little early, as we ented up spending a couple of hours there waiting for our flight.

Overall, we had a great vacation and would recommend this resort!

Room Tip: Preferred Club Rooms are on higher floors, so a better view of the ocean, but we were very happy wit...
