The owners Sean (Aussie) and Chae (Korean) couldn’t be nicer or friendlier. Chae was also extremely helpful during all email correspondence.
They have a lovely set up in Acqua. The resort was once a colonial style house. There are 7 rooms, 2 upstairs sea facing, 2 downstairs sea facing and 3 others that face out the back with no view to speak of. The gardens are immaculate and have numerous types of chairs, beds, even a hammock, etc dotted around - it’s like lounging in your own beautiful garden around a large and very clean pool.
The staff are always smiling and very helpful. It is a little strange that they ask at breakfast what you want for lunch and dinner, but as it is such a small resort, I guess they have to order in. Also, by ordering your dinner before 4.30pm each day you qualify for a free evening drink, so it’s not so bad!
Most of the food is of a high quality and the portions are very generous, we had trouble clearing our plates most evenings. The only thing that really wasn’t good were the french fries, really over cooked and greasy, but maybe the chef was having a bad day!
The dive centre, although small works well and the staff appear very professional and helpful. Our guide Esmail was great, spoke very good English, had a good sense of humour, but best of all was a great spotter of the critters.
Would thoroughly recommend Acqua if you like a small, homely place to stay.
Thank you all for a lovely and memorable stay.
