We very much enjoyed our recent 4 day stay in a 1 bedroom condo in this resort. All the rooms are ocean front, overlooking the pool area. It would have gotten 5 stars if it had had a decent restaurant and if the drinks weren't so watered down at the pool bar. But overall we had a fun time. Very nice beach area and within walking distance of Wrecked on the Reef...funniest place in Rocky Point. Condo was well appointed.

Don't forget to get your Mexican Car Insurance prior to crossing the border. We purchase our car insurance in Ajo, AZ at a Minute Market in town. Very reasonable cost per day. Crossing at Lukeville is a piece of cake. Read all of the information sent to you by email from the Sonoran Sun staff for important information while in Mexico. Remember, guns and ammunition is prohibited in Mexico. It is a 5 hour drive, more or less, from Phoenix to the Sonoran Sun Resort. The Sonoran Sun staff and concierge are most helpful and gracious. The rooms offer variety, so spend some time researching various rooms for those that most meet your family needs. Most, but not all, have washers and dryers in the condos. The pool is beautiful and well maintained. No lifeguards are on duty, however, staff maintain a presence at the pool. Swim up bar service is available. Low tide is a fun opportunity for beach combing activities twice a day. You can enjoy the onsite restaurant, cook for yourself in the furnished kitchens, or walk/drive down the beach and eat at the local eatery, Wrecked at the Reef. Take your snorkeling gear with you. Snorkeling at the reef is a good time. There are monitored parking areas for your security at the Sonoran Sun Resort and Wrecked at the Reef. Down town shopping is 15 minutes away. Paid parking downtown can be safer for your car than parking on the street. There are multiple dining options downtown. You could purchase your own (live) seafood, take it back to the resort, and prepare it yourself. You will need a passport to return to the United States. Crossing the border can take some time, so come prepared with water and plenty of gasoline.

Room Tip: All rooms have sea view balconies. Read room descriptions for condos with cable tv, wifi, washers/dryers, bed sizes, etc.

Our 2-bedroom condo was clean and the facility was well maintained. There is a convenience store next to the office that was well priced and very convenient for ice, sunblock, goggles, milk, etc. There is also a restaurant and a bar, however, we brought our own food and beverages, so we didn't consume there.

The kitchen was well stocked, and they have electric and charcoal grills available in a somewhat shaded patio area as well. We travel as a large group of five families, and this made our cooking so much easier!

There is plenty of seating available around the pool with an outside and very clean bathroom for guests. They have palapas (first come first serve) just outside the pool area right on the beach and a couple showers.

It was amazing! I have no complaints and will definitely return next year.

Highly recommended - pools and beach are terrific, decent fitness center, great swim-up bar staff, and Poco de Todos store does indeed have “a little bit of everything”! Views from balconies are just gorgeous! And the property is beautifully cared for. We love it there.
Would be even more perfect if the restaurant could be improved. We hear they are working on it.

I think people are confused thinking this is a hotel, it's not. It's a resort of privately owned (and therefore individually decorated/furnished) condos that the resort coordinates renting when the owners aren't using. Knowing that going in we weren't expecting a bunch of towels getting changed out every day nor beds being made up and we brought our own beach towels and toiletries. We were impressed that they even came around collecting garbage the second morning of our stay.

Regardless of hotel or condo, you can't argue that this property's location is simply stunning. Our condo, SW512 was just perfect but it looks like EVERY unit has a view of the gorgeous pool, well-maintained grounds and amazing beach. Any time we were in our condo I was on the balcony soaking it in. Both the pool area and beach never got too crowded and you're a little ways out of town which for me, added to both the relaxation-factor and feeling of safety.

The bed was very comfortable although I found the bedroom very dark. The condo was furnished and decorated well, but the furniture was almost too over-sized making a large condo fill crowded at times. I think each unit has their own router for wifi (ours did) and service was fantastic from bedroom to balcony. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes/appliances, but we did have to go into town to buy salt & pepper. Didn't even think of bringing our own, but we were planning to go to Super Ley anyway and found some cheaper than home. We never had a problem with water pressure or temperature in the bathroom. The first night the shower smelled a little sulfur-y, but we just ran it for awhile until the smell went away.

Second only to the stunning view, was the great service from our "personal concierge, Lydia!" She emailed us days before our trip listing activity options we might like. She coordinated massages on our balcony and a sunset dinner cruise and was even willing to personally give us ride into town for our cruise before we decided to drive!! She was so helpful and let us conveniently charge all of our activities to our room!

We're already planning a trip back with the kids!!
