First off, the road to the Reef RV Park is extremely poor, pulling into the park is difficult, and there is no tar road from the main road about 1/2-1 mile away. The Sites at the Reef have lots of broken curbs (Some moved by other visitors), the power outlets are rusted, wires hanging and safety covers missing. When we washed our hands outside we could feel electric current when we touched the water and ground at the same time (There may be multiple shorts in the ground *DANGEROUS). The fuse panels are falling apart, safety covers for wiring is missing, the plugs are falling apart, and the fuse banks rusted solid. The power was off for hours at a time (4-5 hr.’s) on two of our 4 Days we stayed here. Water was also not on for hours at a time, this occurred without notice. When we visited the office they had power and running water so this occurred in the park only and not in town. The Reef RV Park has one central bathroom with laundry, the showers are not tiled on the walls and there are numerous openings with lots of MOLD and wear were sheetrock is exposed. The drains back up while showering and you are standing in a huge puddle of water, in some cases the doors to the showers did not close, and there are exposed wires hanging from the ceiling. Some of the showers have faucet knobs, other are missing completely. The toilets when we arrived for 2 days straights had been plugged and had feces and sewage over flowing on the floor surrounding the stall. They did clean them after numerous people complained days later, but soon became clogged and nasty dirty again only a day later. The Park had lots’ of trash everywhere (Bottles, cans, paper and litter), and we noticed numerous huge ant hives with large red ants while walking around. Our campsite had large red ants crawling on chairs, tables so we had to wear sandals at all times luckily nobody was bitten. When we went to the beach, we got asked by the same vendors over and over again to buy items, to have beer and in some cases if we could give them tequila. Not all the vendors had been inconsiderate, but there are numerous ones without permits who roam your site, and hound you for a purchase, beer, liquor and offer you yayo or weed which we do not desire. When we said no thank you, they would return 5-10 minutes later after walking the line of people and ask you again hoping you may purchase or offer them beer or wine or... etc. In some cases they asked over and over again for food we had been grilling at the time. On one occasion, two vehicles entered the park I believe to be federals, they had masks on all in black, carried large automatic weapons, and high caliber machine guns mounted to pickup trucks, they drove slowly thru the park, scared us, stared at us, and then left. They looked very similar to terrorists seen on TV than federal law enforcement or government...etc.
