We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights while participating in a tour out of Mazatlan. The hotel was chosen by our tour operator and was an excellent choice in Centro Historico, Durango. It can be classified as a budget hotel but provided everything that we needed while we enjoyed the city of Durango and some of the surrounding area. The rooms were clean, the beds were relatively comfortable and the staff were excellent. The hotel is hacdienda style with two large central courtyards good for gathering and conversation. This hotel started as the home of wealthy people and was eventually turned into a rest home/hospital for mine workers and soldiers. It was converted into a hotel 6 years ago. The hotel does not have a restaurant but room service is available from a sister hotel only 1/2 block away. It is also located within 3 blocks of the central square and 6 block promenade which has a multitude of restaurants and coffee shops.
