“Brilliant accomodation all round and catered well for elderly relative”
Reviewed December 8, 2013

We stayed in the disabled friendly suite for the second time this October (2013). It is very well set out and excellently equipped for self-catering. Access for the disabled is very straightforward and parking is right outside the door.
The grounds are really well laid out and maintained and it was lovely to be greeted by the ducks in the morning as we left the suite.
It was a pleasure every time we had an interaction with the staff, they couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. We had a lightbulb go, and it was replaced almost immediately, even though it wasn't inconveniencing us at all.
We used the gym, which is OK for a holiday facility and the restaurant was good value with a varied menu.
Overall a great trip with a 91 year old relative, made all the better by the facilities and the staff.

Room Tip: There is only one disabled friendly suite. It is brilliant but if you need it, book early!

Lovely peaceful place to stay. We have been to Whitbarrow twice a year since the early ninety's
and intend to carry on doing so. The facilities are good and the restaurant serve excellent food at reasonable prices. The village is ideally placed for exploring the Lake District. My grandchildren love going and we are looking forward to a long weekends stay in January.

We have stayed at Whitbarrow on many occasions and in all different weathers but the welcome has always been warm.A lovely place to stay with good food, superb accommodation in an equally superb part of the lakes. We took friends with us in November, they had never been to the lakes and were very impressed on all accounts despite the hair raising trip over the Hardknott and Wrynose passes. Not for the faint hearted but a not to be missed experience .The swimming pool was warm and used daily as was the restaurant and the week ended with a resounding win at the quiz night!!!

Room Tip: All rooms are good .Any special requests are accommodated ,You can have upstairs or downstairs bedro...

We had a lovely midweek break at Whitbarrow which is very near to Keswick, the Ullswater unit that we stayed in was a large 2 bed unit and very comfortable.
The restaurant is of very good quality and has a large menu, the village spa and pool is of high quality and the grounds are well maintained.
Keswick is at the heart of the lakes with a good theatre and cinema, bars and cafes and many fine shops.
We will definitely return in the future.

We've been before but this last trip in early November was really special; lovely food in the on site restaurant, superb house to stay in and wonderful weather as well. The house was warm and well maintained, and the grounds are neat and tidy. Even the ducks are well mannered!

Room Tip: The Ullswater houses are very good

We stayed at whitbarrow in October 2013. On arrival, the booking in was very easy and the staff were very helpful indeed and made us feel very welcome.
When we entered our suite, we were very impressed with the facilities etc.
It is an excellent location for exploring the lakes.
We used the pool and visited the restaurant on 2 occasions which were both excellent.
Will definitely be returning again
