Most beautiful location, charming and confortable rooms, great views, excellent diner and wines, nice people, only the parking lot could be better located.
There is a beautiful church, nice beach, lots of walking patchs right by the hotel.
The rooms are charming which is quite unusual for Iceland.
Prices are high but the place is unique.

This hotel seemed to have great potential. It has all of the appearances of being a great couples romantic getaway place, but, of course, someone just had to bring young kids there. To be honest, our experience was quite forgettable. Breakfast was included in the overpriced room rate. We did not eat dinner there, but the selection was limited. One item we found nice was the very large collection of National Geographic Magazines that they had. During the rainy evening, we browsed several issues from various decades. The staff was adequate, but not overly friendly. Because of noisy kids, there was a lot of between room and hallway noise.

Quaint, oceanside boutique hotel. Wonderful location and very peaceful. Not too far of a drive to see the glacier (probably the best hotel in the area). Food was excellent. Would highly recommend the Master Suite - we fit in quite nicely with our three young children.

Hotel Budir has one of the most amazing views and as we were in room 5 we were fortunate to be able to wake up to it every day with spectacular views across the jetty from the mountains down to the sea. We stayed there 2 nights and liked it very much. On our first evening we sat out on nice deck chairs, drank beer and just stared - the view was that good. Budir is well known amongst all the Icelander's we spoke to, especially famous for its food, which was superb. We had fish both nights and it was excellent. From Budir we went whale watching and also toured around the Snaellfellnes peninsula taking a gazillion photos during our time there but also really enjoying the laid back pace of life. A small criticism about the place is that the staff are quite casual, and we were never too sure who the staff were, they could easily have drifted into the restaurant or hung around on the front terrace drinking beers for all we knew - given that it is quite pricey, this style is a little bit too informal and probably could be addressed.

We were treated to a one night stay on the 2nd July by our Icelandic friends. The sun shone all day (and night!). The hotel was wonderful- and the restaurant was great. We had plenty of choice for our evening meal and we all enjoyed the food and service immensely. We then had a midnight trip up to the glacier. The location of the hotel is just superb- so tranquil. Our room was lovely- views of the fantastic waterfall and mountains. Beautifully clean too.We absolutely would love to go back to the hotel right now - to get away from dull wet UK!

This hotel sits all alone on the beach and all you hear are waves and the many birds outside your windows. The decor is warm and cozy with candles lit all over in the evening. (Even if the sun is still shining!). The resturant is amazing. The menu is short but the food is outstanding. I had the lobster salad and my main course was lamb with a wonderful reduction. It is exspensive but it was worth the spurge!!

I stayed in this hotel as part of a large group for a party. The staff seemed annoyed to have to deal with so many people rather than happy to have the business.

The setting was absolutely stunning and I was thrilled by the whole place on arrival. The food that I ate there was also very high quality. Unfortunately though the service was so bad that it put a real dampener on the whole stay. Staff were indifferent and huffed when they got things wrong. Having asked in advance by email about horseriding and been assured that it would be possible nearby the woman at the front desk informed me that there was none available til May and just shrugged - one of the main reasons for staying was horseriding - after a lot of pushing to find out where the place was I went myself to find that it was in fact possible (and was great!!! Lisohull highly recommended). Dining room service was unapologetic when, as a table of 8, we were served minute starters instead of main course portions of starter dishes as we had ordered. There was absolutely no possibility of room-service when my room-mate was sick so we had to ferry drinks up ourselves.

The place is beautiful, the food is good and the prices are far to high to accept this kind of service despite a belated attempt to rectify mistakes through a free glass of champagne on the last night.
