“Fabulous. Absolutely!”
Reviewed May 1, 2011

We chose the Iron Kettle B&B largely based on the strength of its TripAdvisor reviews, and we were not disappointed -- rather, we found it to be one of the nicest B&Bs we have stayed at.

Situated just south of Comber, and 20 minutes N of Leamington, the Iron Kettle occupies a stately 19th-centure house amidst nicely-landscaped surroundings. From the private parking lot to the pond that you can watch as you eat your breakfast, the owners have found a good balance between the classic and the modern.

The same continues inside: fully renovated, it has five bedrooms, each with a private bathroom. Tastefully furnished, the bedrooms have superbly comfortable Sealy beds for a good night's sleep, with furnishings that fit the ambiance of the house while still providing the modern comforts. The two sitting rooms and the kitchen area continue the same theme, and provide a comfortable area to sink into the leather sofa and read a book -- or watch the satellite TV, if one is so inclined. Wireless Internet and a computer are also available for Internet access.

The owners are very helpful and accommodating, and clearly take pride of ownership in the B&B, ensuring that everything is clean, presentable and working condition. Oh, and the breakfast: apart from the excellent continental-style content, we enjoyed some outstanding croissants with egg, Genoa salami, provolone and Asiago cheese. I can't imagine a much better start for a day!

The Iron Kettle is sure to be at the top of our list for the future, and is highly recommended whether visiting Leamington and Point Pelee, or looking for a place to stay en route to Windsor and Detroit.

We recently spent a weekend with friends at the Iron Kettle B & B and it was without a doubt the most warm and friendly place we have ever stayed. The decor is absolutely charming and provides a sense of elegance and comfort. The hosts are top notch paying great attention to every detail and they are more than willing to meet any special requests. The rooms are quiet, each with its own bathroom, and the beds were beyond comfortable.
Breakfast was also amazing featuring fresh ground coffee, fresh fruit and the most delicious belgian waffles and quiche. A wide variety of foods to satisfy everyone which were beautifully prepared and presented. Definately did not go away hungry!
Would absolutely recommend the Iron Kettle B & B and plan on staying there again. The owners have done a fantastic job creating a little piece of heaven in this quite rural setting. This B & B is without a doubt a 5* plus!!

We stayed here to celebrate friends 25th anniversary. There were four couples. We arrived to find a modern but turn of the century feel with a very warm atmosphere. The hosts were friendly, welcoming but totally gave us our space. We brought our portable bbque's and had a wonderful celebration dinner. The hosts knew we were doing this and had the table beautifully decorated for us when we arrived. The weather was outstanding that night so we were able to enjoy the huge yard which has a magnificent pond and waterfall. After dinner we enjoyed the hot tub in the back which was private and quiet. Because it is out in the country the dark night made the stars look like they were right on top of you. The beds were amazing, I have never slept more comfortably! The rooms were quiet and dark and each had their own washroom. When we arrived for breakfast the smell of fresh ground coffee filled the air. We were treated to belgian waffles with many toppings, quiche, peameal bacon and fresh fruit and juice. We had an awesome time here and will surely return!

The Iron Kettle was a great experience for our family which started with a warm welcome and the hospitality continued on throughout our three night stay. The service was prompt and cheerful. The meals were full of variety catering to our various taste buds and also accommodated our food allergies. The bedrooms, each having it's own private washroom, were spacious and comfortable. The decor combines old and new bringing a new element to the ambience. Our stay at the Iron Kettle was our first experience with a Bed and Breakfast and the memories will never be forgotten. The B&B is large enough to offer large families or multiple friends, and families, to have both privacy and a common area to meet in. We are looking forward to another stay at the Iron Kettle. We will definitely recommend it to anyone traveling in the area.

The Iron Kettle B & B was a 5-star haven for our large, last-minute family gathering.

No one in our group had ever stayed in a bed and breakfast before. Our previous experience has been at upscale, luxury hotels across the globe so we were extremely impressed at the level of accommodation and service.

From the moment we made our inquiry just two days before our arrival, we were made to feel that every attention to detail would ensure a stress-free stay, and it was.

The house is beautifully appointed and very comfortable. We enjoyed the two spacious sitting rooms where the adults and teens could each have their own space. And because the weather was unseasonably mild, we were also able to enjoy the sun-filled breakfast room and adjacent patio by the pond.

After our first night's sleep, we just had to ask the owners about the beds. They're top-of-the-line mattresses with memory foam and pillow top, and are the most comfortable we've ever slept on.

The breakfasts were gourmet, healthy and generous. For the teenagers, a slightly different fare was offered according to their tastes. Most importantly, one family member has a severe peanut allergy and the owners could not have been more accommodating in their meal preparations.

The Iron Kettle B & B not only met and exceeded our clients' expectations, they anticipated our needs, which is a true sign of 5-star service.

The Iron Kettle is a tastefully renovated house with fantasic features. The rooms are amazing, they give you that home feeling, not that type of feeling you get at a hotel. You can tell that no corners have been cut to save on costs, as the Iron Kettle was a luxurious experience. The people who run this were very personal, and the service was amazing. Breakfast was fantastic, tonnes of food and a wonderful area to eat.
