It was a long drive from Chania. We took the coastal road on the way to the beach (nearly 2hrs), and the sceneary was undescribable although it took longer than mountain road. We took the mountain road on the way back to Chania, and found that the tunnel was still closed and had to divert (follow the sign posts). The last 7 miles to the beach was nice wide road, although the last few hundred meters were rocky but drivable road (I was surprised that there were large-size coaches in the beach car park. How did they get through the narrow mountain road?).
The beach was so beautiful with clear water. It was a bit cold for us to swim in the sea (visited in the middle of Oct.), but some did. Because of no peak season, the beach was not crowded. But we were sure that peak season would be very crowded.
