All I can say is you have to use this company! We have used now for 4 years and have planned to go back to Mexico again in May 13. If you want fabulous corals and topography, with the ease of diving - this is the place for you. Eagles rays and nurse sharks, along with an average of 1 turtle per dive (we did 21 each) you cannot be disappointed. if you want hard metal and technical diving then I would say not for you. Nick, Mauricio, Jim, Myrna and not forgetting Fernado and Victor all make you feel welcome and they have now got used used to the British sense of humour! Ok we went in low season this year, but the seas were calm and vis fine and getting a 90 min dive - what else can you ask for! (in busy season you will get 60-70 min dives).

The cenotes are a must if it's your first time to Mexico, the topography is stunning and the light shining allows for seem fabulous pictures.

Having done in excess of 150 dives with these guys, we have not been disappointed once and will continue to use. Their safety on board is taken seriously and you do feel like you get a family and personal service - that's why we go back year on year. The local residents use Aquanaunts and therefore this is also a high recommendation.

See you in May!!!!!

The Brits!

My wife and I had the pleasure of finishing our open water diving certifications with Nick this week. Everything about the experience was really awesome. We corresponded with Nick and Jim via email before we got to Mexico and they were very helpful, and very quick to respond every time I asked another question. When we arrived at the dive shop we were immediately welcomed by Jim and quickly put at ease by the calm, laid back nature of the entire team. Nick was extremely patient and like others have noted, he took away (most of) my anxieties with his easy-going nature and a very thorough explanation of exactly what we would do at every step of the way. Once we got started, he was a terrific guide and made sure that we got the most of our time underwater! I can't imagine that it is possible to find a better place to do your scuba training and certifications. The crew was great, the dive locations are right outside of the marina ( no more than 5-10 minute boat rides, most were only 2-3 minutes outside of the marina), and we hope that now that we're certified that we can go back and dive with Nick and the Nativo crew again soon!

We just returned from our 2nd vacation to the Riviera Maya area in three years. Both time we stayed at a nearby all inclusive which has a dive shop, but dove with Aquanauts in PV and we could not be happier. Do not waste your limitted time with the resort one size fits all cattle boats. Aquanuats in PV set the standard for customer orientation. This was evident by the high percentage of repeat customers (~75+ %) for the times we dove with them; and the other 25% were mostly customer referals. The loyalty is easy to understand. This is a friendly and accomodating shop that is also disciplined and serious about safety. Great at listening to customers' desires and assessing skills, so each trip is optimized. We grouped up depending on skills, air rate, and desires. Some times we all dove together. Some times we dropped off at different locations. The point is that you get the most out of your bottom time doing what you want to do, because they listen to their customers and have Great access to a variety of dive sights, most less than 5 to 10min by boat. Google Nick and Mauricio or go to the scubaboards, you will find they have a well deserved reputation as divers, instructors, and friends.

Two final thoughts. Not only does this shop show a respect for diving and concern for the unique environment; but also, the shop respects their employees. You will be diving with people who like each other and want to be there, making it fun and accomodating. The final thought - you must do at least one cenote dive with them. This is a spectacular experience that will be as awe inspiring as your first open water dive. Mauricio makes it even better, sharing knowledge and appreciation for the experience.

My wife and I just went on 6 ocean dives and 2 cenote dives with aquanauts. We are newly open water certified and they made our first experience great! They maximize bottom times and give excellent service. You will not be disappointed if you pick them. Both Nick and Mauricio do a great job of guiding the dives.

My wife, our 12 year old daughter and I recently dove with Aquanauts on our trip to Puerto Aventuras. Nick and Mauricio were fantastic. The boat crew was very skilled in navigating out of the port during a stretch of unusually rough water due to strong Southeast winds. We dove in the ocean with both Nick and Mauricio. Aquanauts is a bottom time oriented dive shop, so if you are prudent with your air, you can experience longer dives. The port eventually closed due to the high winds, so we arranged to go cavern diving at Dos Ojos with Mauricio. The cavern diving was spectacular and Mauricio did a great job guiding us on a two tank cavern dive. We will definitely plan to dive with them again on our next visit.
