Just returned from a week at this resort...
Food okay, terrible beach area with all the rocks, and even the color or the water isn't a beautiful blue color as the other beaches along the Riviera Maya are. Nice and clean pools. Drinks good but weak even after asking for doubles. If you are looking for an inexpensive 3-star resort in Mexico, look elsewhere like Playa del Carmen where the beaches are beautiful. There are many other inexpensive, but better resorts in the area. Room upgrades are a scam! Most other resorts don't scam their guests by this method. Nothing special at all about this Catalonia resort. :(

Room Tip: Beware if you go to the Marina Money Exchange! We were taken for $33usd but didn't realize it un...

We stayed here for a week in June of this year, it was amazing! We upgraded to a Priviledge Suite and it was so worth the money!! The Suites were fantastic! I loved the Resort itself, the pool was nice, the food was great, the beach is beautiful! They have free bike rentals, which we used twice to drive around Puerto Aventuras. I felt so safe and secure, because the Resort is within a gated "community" with a Marina, where you can see and swim with Dolphins, etc. It was truly awesome!! The Staff was friendly, great. The drinks were good! The room was clean, the restaurants were delicious! The Spa at the Resort is amazing! I have recommended this Resort to everyone I know, and I'm looking forward to going back soon!!

Room Tip: Upgrade to the Priviledged Suites if you can afford it! They are spacious and beautiful! We also got...

The resort was great, the staff was friendly, rooms were clear, plenty of food and drinks.
We had one standard room and on upgraded because we needed a fridge in the room. But both rooms were great, the standard room looked a little old but we where only going to sleep in there so no biggy. The AC worked and we had a issue one day and the repair people came up fairly quickly.
The buffet was good but after staying there for four days and having the same selection of food did get a little old. The italian resturant was surprising excellent and the mexican was okay with great presentation of the food. Just have to wait a good 30mintues but no biggy if you plan a head.
Only problem we had was finding the resort, since it is part of a bigger time share community and we were driving to it. It took us about an extra hour to find it, so that was frustrating. They said they had a sign but with a new bridge contruction in fron of the entrance the sign was taken down and the direction from our GPS were wrong to.
But other than that it was a perfect stay. Good staff, good food, clean rooms, plenty of room in the pool and a clean beach, plus free wifi. Also they had great travel guide who were super helpful and booked a tour for us at 7pm for the next morning.

I stayed here in June of this year, and loved it so much that I went back in 3 months later. You can read my first review about this resort, as everything is still as awesome as it was,and all the staff are amazing!!!

As a returning guest, we got a special welcome back dinner at one of the a la carte restaurants, which was AMAZING!! One night I even had a plate of chocolates in my room (Thanks Joel!!), just for no reason. When I got to my room the first day, there was a plate of fruit, an extra bottle of tequila, and a welcome back letter.

Even though the weather wasn't very good for most of the week, this was still the best vacation ever!! A bunch of people that we met there loved it too, and we all are planning on going back together in April.

Don't hesitate to go here, there is absolutely nothing wrong with this place..I LOVE it!!! If anyone wants to see pictures, I have tons on FB, so feel free to write to me if you're interested in seeing any of them.

Room Tip: I stayed in building 1 on the Riviera Maya side and loved it. I even asked for the same room I had...

This resort is amazing everything about it was great. We had an ocean view room the view was incredible. The resort was extremely clean and staff here were very friendly. Food was top notch. The only thing that wasn't great was the ocean was rocky to get in and out but it wasn't bad. I would recommend this resort to anyone and would go back in a heartbeat.

Room Tip: I would request ocean view

Booked 3 standard rooms for family of six for a seven night stay. Each room had its pluses and/or minuses but didn't feel a need to upgrade nor were we pressured to do so as some reviews seem to suggest.

Our plan was for a relaxing vacation, do nothing vacation and we got that plus a little more. The fun and personable entertainment staff did a good job filling in activities throughout the days and into the evenings. The shows, although not of Broadway or Vegas caliber, entertained us in the evenings. We truly appreciated their efforts. Even through the daily rain periods, the staff had alternate games to play.

There was a good variety of food and drinks at every meal although it was of better quality at the full service restaurants. My only complaint was the long 1hr 40min wait for a table at the steak grill while a table set for six sat empty for a good 30 to 45 minutes reserved for a party that was only partly present awaiting their ladies to arrive.

Overall we enjoyed our stay at the beach and the activities we participated at this resort. If were not for the fact that I like trying new places in each travel, I would not hesitate to return.

Room Tip: Our rooms #400's were a good location--a short walk to the lobby and main pool with a view of th...
