We visit this beach every time we're staying anywhere along the Riviera Maya and every time we turn right one street too soon. It seems like they need to move the "Xpu-ha Beach" sign down to the correct road but it's always well worth the turn around we have to make. Once you turn on the correct, we noticed something different this year - a local who collects 20MXN in exchange for wrist bracelets and parking at the beach. This applies even if you tell them you're coming to eat at the beach side bar and restaurant.
We've never met any english speaking tourists at Xpu-ha and have only noticed locals, all who seem to be very nice. The service, food and drinks at the restaurant are great but the real attraction here is the beautiful beach with its pristine sand and blue waters.
I would highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area - it's a 3-5 minute ride from Puerto Aventuras and beats any beach within Puerto Aventuras, hands down.
