Booked a half day excursion on the Fat Cat Catamaran an excellent day out a well organised trip taking in snorkeling on the Reef where we saw turtles and stingrays we then sailed along the cost to a small lagoon where we were aloud to swim freely. The crew were excellent freely dishing out the free booze along with soft drinks if required. there was also a light lunch included in the price.
Overall a good family day out.

This excursion was a real highlight on our recent Mexico trip. We booked via Thomas Cook and combined it with swimming with dolphins at Delphinus. Quite an expensive day out but worth every penny.
The catamarin was very new and immaculate, there was only about 17 on board a boat that could take 40 people so there was plenty of room to walk around the boat and sunbathe on the trampolines at the front. The crew were professional and the skipper spoke excellent english. We were all Brits on board, mainly couples and families with teenagers so I think we were more of a subdued bunch than what the crew were used to.
It was a lovely relaxing and fun experience, the packed lunch and fruit was just fine and no shortage of alcoholic and soft drinks, I would recommend the rum punch! Snorkelling was great although you are spoilt everywhere you go along this coastline with the variety of marine life so close to the shore.
The crew put the sail up on the way back to the beer and lifejacket nappy stop so it was lovely to just sail along this beautiful coastline. We had a lot of fun jumping off the boat at the second stop and catching the beers from the crew.
Snorkels/Masks and lifejackets were all included - just take towels and suncream.
I would be really hard pushed to find any criticism with this trip - it was awesome!
I would highly recommend this trip for couples, groups of friends and families with older children.

Captain was knowledgable and funny! Great lunch on board and for a non swimmer it was great to get in the water with a beer! Loads of room as the boat was not overcrowded and plenty of space to choose a sunbathing spot!

Our wedding party set up a 4 hour private sailing adventure for 27 people. It was an awesome experience from the start to finish!

To start out the communication in setting up the event prior to arriving in Mexico was excellent. Arlene and Edith responded to our every question super fast on the phone and emails. Once it came to getting picked up at our resorts everything went very smooth. The vans were on time and very good drivers.

The sailing of the boat was great & the boat was in excellent condition. The crew members were very informative on giving you the basic rules up front and then just letting you enjoy the trip as you went to sea. We traveled to a coral reef that was approx. 3-10 ft. deep. Great for snorkeling so you didn't have to dive down to see the fish close up. We swam there for about 1 hour which was the right amount of time. We then sailed back to port for an hour and finished our adventure swimming in the cove and drinking some beer. The guacamole, pico de gallo, & fresh fruit served on board were all excellent tasting snacks.

In all if you were going to book a private charter or go on the boat with a bunch of random strangers I guarantee that FatCat will make sure your excursion is a great time and well pleased.

Thanks again for a great event.

John

So sorry to disagree with all the reviews but we just didn't enjoy it. I understand that we all have personal opinions and although some people liked it, we felt that it was a huge waste of money.

We went on the half day adults only trip leaving. We were given the safety briefing, given drinks then told that we could go to the front of the boat if we wanted. Everyone flocked to the front leaving us and another couple at the back. We then sailed for about an hour before stopping to go snorkelling. The snorkelling was really disappointing. For being told that there we lots of varieties of fish we didn't see much. However we did see one turtle. If it hadn't been for this it would have been very very disappointing. We then got back on the boat and sailed back to where we set out. We stopped just outside the harbour at a so called 'beautiful cove'. The beach at our hotel was far nicer. We were at the cove for about 45 minutes. A few people went in the water and yes they did the nappy thing, but we found it a bit of 'killing time'. After what we thought as an expensive trip, the staff then encouraged us quite strongly to leave a tip.

All in all, the FatCat is really just a boat trip. I was obviously expecting more but I don't know what. The snorkelling was disappointing, the other guests saw it as an 18-30's booze cruise and the sandwich and bag of crisps was just poor. In my opinion, don't waste your money.
