Potzollcalli is located in the southeast part of SLP on the frontage road of highway 57. It is located about 100 feet from the McDonalds (the McDonalds is easy to see from the freeway). This restaurant is part of a chain of about 30 restaurants.
I went for here for lunch at about 12:30 PM on a Wednesday afternoon with a couple of co-workers and we enjoyed some good local Mexican food. We were originally going to a different Mexican restaurant but it was closed so we decided to go to McDonalds since we were in a hurry and had to get back to the office for a meeting. As we were driving up to McDonalds we found Potzollcalli next door. The place was not very busy as most people in SLP do not eat lunch at 12:30. Most of the local people inside the restaurant were finishing their breakfast (there were no tourists eating here).
The food is good and is great place to go if you are looking for local Mexican food. My only complaint was the amount of food we ordered (and the portion sizes were very large). I ate so much for lunch that I had to eat a light dinner. We split the Bocadillos Rancheros for an appetizer and they were really good. We also had tortilla soup and enchiladas. They also bring out chips and salsa for you to munch on before your food arrives. The inside is not much to look at as the tables and the interior decorations look a little cheap. The dining room is very large with lots of tables (I think it can hold a lot of customers). The service was very good as the servers were all friendly and very attentive.
Overall I enjoyed my meal at Potzollcalli and recommend it.
