On my last visit to Ixtapa I decided to go "hunting" for new places to dine and have fun. On my 3rd night I walked into "La Fusion" and I was so pleased to find out it belongs to Miguel and Co. the previous owner of another of my favourite spots in Ixtapa which, as I found out in my recent trip, changed management and lost its magic.
As always, Miguel's personal attention and service were excellent, the atmosphere is just great!
The menu is literally a fusion between International and Mexican cousine, I had a very hard time choosing between a steak in a passion fruit sauce or a fish fillet with an option of a number of exotic fruit based sauces that they call "neuroafrodixiotics" (or something like that!). At the end I went for the fish in a tamarind and habanero pepper sauce (freshest fish you can get is always at the beach!) and it was delicious!! I also had a cold avocado soup, which I've never had before, and I have to say, if you havent had avocado soup before you definitely have to try it!
The whole experience was just fantastic!
Best of luck to Miguel and La Fusion!!
