When planning our annual vacation in Ixtapa I was excited to hear that El Tiburon de la Costa had opened a second restaurant in town. We were willing to take a cab out to San Jose to eat at their original restaurant but glad now that there is one right in Ixtapa. My wife had the Camerones in butter and I had the Camerones Rellenos and both were excellent and a real value at 110 and 120 pesos respectively. The generous portions come with rice, mashed potatoes and a lettuce salad with avocado slices along with a basket of bread sprinkled with cheese. We both left feeling very full and satisfied with a great meal. I wish I could remember all the names of the wait staff that we interacted with (there were at least four of them) but they all made us feel very welcome. They talked with us and tried to help us with our limited Spanish. The restaurant is a little off the beaten path and located in the Ixtapa Palace Hotel lobby a few doors down from Emilo's. What it lacks in ambience it more than makes up for with value, quality food and personal attention from the staff. Give it a try as you won't be disappointed.
