For anyone thinking of visiting Ixtapa , I highly recommend Las Brisas. We have stayed there 3 times in the last 3 years and love it., ALL rooms are ocean view rooms and the beach is amazing as well as large . Rooms are very clean, for an older resort and happy hour in the main lobby to watch the sunset is not only fun but romantic .
They are not all inclusive but offer that as an option, I would pass on it , its very expensive for one and you can eat alot cheaper in Ixtapa plus its only a $ 4.00 cab ride ,,,dinner for 2 averages about $ 15.00 to $ 20.00 where as eating at the resort for two averages about $ 75.00 to $ 100.00, drinks included . The breakfest buffett there is $ 20.00 per person but not worth it ( thats just my opinion ) again, go to Ixtapa. Breakfest there averages about $ 5.00 and its pretty good . Also visit Zihuatanejo, its about a $ 10.00 cab ride from resort but you can negotiate a better deal heading back with the local cabs . Zihuatanejo offers some great shopping and places to eat lunch and dinner , but then again so does Ixtapa .
All in all,,,very good resort and surrounding towns are alot of fun to shop . In Ixtapa everyone likes to go to Franks restaurant in the main square area at least once ,,,not bad for pizza actually. I also like Momma Norma's ( I thinks that was the name ) damn good Lobster tail's for $ 20.00 Alot of places to eat around the marina area well.
When booking and you want all-inclusive ,,they have a few places in Ixtapa like that but little or no beach at all,,takes the fun out of the day I think . So be watchful when booking one of those .
There are local markets in Ixtapa so you can load up on liquer , beer and snacks , we did !!! since the rooms all have fridges , plus there are a few shops there for last minute items .
I rated the spa low because I never saw it opened . Best value is lunch by the main pool .
But i really did enjoy Las Brisas Resort .
