To get there, take a water taxi from the Playa Linda dock. There are three beaches between which you can walk. The one on the south side is open to the ocean and is mostly coral (rough on the feet) but has the best snorkeling. This is at the island's narrowest point so the restaurants there also service the beach just across to the north side of the island. This beach is quite calm and quiet. Food is good at these restaurants. Beer is always cold. A couple of guys usually arrive about mid-afternoon in a boat filled with shells for sale. Beautiful stuff.

Let someone help you at the dock. They will take you to their restaurant and sell you gear. So many to choose from, this is easy and it was a good value for us.

Before taking the boat to the Island, I explained the guy that we, a group of five, wanted to go to the other side of the Island called "baredero beach", of course, the guy gave us his point of view, of why was "much better to go to the other side, the south side, latter on we realized that it is where he works. We order drinks and a big huachinango, a super and delicious fish that can be prepared to your own desire and taste. After we ordered the food, the fish was good, but not well cleaned. Two years ago at this island, I paid, for the same amount, 1/2 of the price that I paid this time. I found that the restaurants on the Island has raise food prices at an exorbitant levels.

Ixtapa Island is worth the short trip to visit. The waters were excellent for snorkeling and the hospitality at the island restaurants was very good. It was a nice place to chill and a nice change of scenery

We heard the snorkeling was very good and it was. You have to get a table and it's yours for the day. We asked for a menu but the waiter did not bring one. We just wanted some snacks which we ordered. Not much food at all. 4 beers total and it was about $75!! What a rip off.
If you go, be sure to know what the price is before ordering.
